Round of applause for our sponsors

Ever since the end of high school I've been determined to do something with my creative skills, wether this would be traditional or digital. What I do for a living must be something I would genuinely love.

When I watched the Harry Potter movies for the first time, as a child, I knew I wanted to be part of the film industry, expect I wasn't sure what exactly. I loved the effects and I wanted to know how it was possible to put non-existing stuff in films that looked like it's real. A few years ago, I took my chances and started my dream to become a VFX artist.

I spent a lot of time in my childhood playing games and I was always fascinated on how they were created. Then I was drawn to the idea of being able to make my own ideas in 3D and that's where my journey started.

I have been drawing for a long time now, I always knew I wanted to work in the creative industry, I went to Art school and that confirmed my ambitions.

I still remember getting a Playstation 1 as a kid and playing Ridge Racer with a steering wheel twice my size. Ever since, video games and electronics in general have been a passion of mine. At some point I just realized I wanted to know everything that makes a game tick, and I wanted to be part of it.

I've always enjoyed the visual aspects and what goes into the game more than the game itself. It's been a far off dream since early years of elementary school, always seeming a bit too good to be true but here I am actually pursuing this dream in a way that almost feels surreal.

I found out about 3D software when I was about 10 years old. I started experimenting and it became a hobby of mine that came and went multiple times. Eventually I got more and more into game development and CGI and I decided to do game graphics productions at Digital Arts and Entertainment at Howest as my higher education.

At a young age, I was introduced to art through seeing my godfather's art this interest peaked when I played video games with my mother where I made many good memories playing Rayman, mist, and Tomb Raider. I lost this spark for all kinds of art through my high school years but when it became time to choose what I was going do for my future I found that spark back and started going to Howest to study game graphics productions and animation to pursue my dream of becoming a character artist.

The love of film has been there since I watched those first animated movies as a child. I can credit the base of everything I have accomplished today to one title: 'Spirit - Stallion of the Cimarron'. It's also the first movie I ever cried to, as I've been told by my parents. The drive to actually pursue that career in entertainment actually came only a few years ago, but since then I've gone full speed ahead.

I made my first render in the age of 10. I always thought 3D was something every person can tell the basics about - just like drawing. I realized how unique skills I'm developing when I went to high school and moved to another city. My new friends were amazed by my artworks and only a little percentage of them knew anything about what I'm doing. That's when I understood how narrow this genre is and that I want to follow it as my career path.

I realized that I wanted to get into the creative media and entertainment industry back when I was still studying architecture. I really had developed a passion for 3D design and I really wanted to create a career out of it, so I enrolled for another degree, from architecture, to games and so far it has been the best thing I have done just yet. I've found new love passion into the game industry and I really look forward to start building my life in it.

Concept Artist

I started my artistic journey in high school, where I studied academic art and graphic design. I had always been a huge admirer of the creative process behind films and games. The idea that the concept artist career path could be possible for me was completely unfathomable, until in high school I realized I could utilize my love for art, design, storytelling, films and games and work towards being a concept artist, and in that way, tell the inspiring stories I've always loved through design.

I was sixteen when I realised I loved digital creation, I quickly took to modding and have been improving my skills ever since.

As a Graphic artist student I grew a interest into 3d modelling, I was obsessed by it. This made me want to switch my career goals. I started of with a course to create concept art, and a basic 3d artist course. after this I went to Howest Digital Arts & Entertainment where I enjoyed a 3 year study on the Game Graphics productions pipeline!

At a young age I always jokingly said I would end up playing or making games as a job, as it never really seemed possible but after I found out that I could actually do that I am now working on fulfilling exactly that.

I've always had a creative mind and I also loved playing games. I would sometimes invent my own board games when I was little and when I found out I could study Game Design, my mind was made up. I knew then that I wanted to work in the game industry.

I've always been drawing as an outlet for my imagination, but wanted to do more. When I started studying Digital arts & Entertainment I realised the potential of 3D visuals. Games have been my favorite medium for a long time, so studying 3D art has helped me bring my imagination to life in these virtual worlds. I would love to contribute to both serious and entertainment games!

I have always loved the entertainment industry, and working in it has been a life-long dream.

From a young age i started to create video's. That interest only grew and transitioned in a possible career path. I heard about HOWEST DAE and I applied instantly. At the moment I'm developing my skills , learning new things every day, with a constant hunger for more.

When I was 16 years old and got my first summer job as a videographer and editor, from that day I realised that I wanted to work in this creative media industry, and even more when I discovered 3D and VFX at age of 18.

In high school I had a lot of mathematics and physics. I did not liked it very much but it pushed me to finish it so I could start with doing something new. Back then I dreamed to do something really different and more creative. I experimented with editing footage and creating basic video effects. In my last year after a lot of researching with help of my parents I stumbled on DAE. I was looking at the different artwork on their site and it totally convinced me. I was encouraged to make such an

I started playing with Photoshop CS4 using YouTube tutorials to create YouTube backgrounds and later moved into Motion Graphics where I found my passion for 3D.
