Uncover Hidden Talent: Hire the World’s Top New Digital Artists
I’ve always been interested in making art but I didn’t know I could use my art skills to become an game artist until recently because of a school I went to. Now I’m a inspiring game artist studying at TGA. Please contact me at [email protected]
I want to create environments with compelling storytelling for people to enjoy. As a fan and player of "The Last of Us" I have always been impressed by the compelling narrative woven into those environments. I specialize in environment and prop creation and am committed to creating exemplary work. I’m always excited about learning new things, technology, and efficient work routes.
I knew this career path was the right one for me when I was 22 and discovered that this was something you could do as a job. I started just learning stuff by myself, getting into maya and zbrush. When I was 25 I applied to The game assembly because I felt I needed more to improve then what I could give myself, and I got in. Now I start work as an External Art Lead at Pieces Interactive in september after a good almost 2 years at Ghost as a Junior Vehicle Artist.
With great curiosity I take on new challenges, and I love to learn new things. I have an eye for details, and I love to share my honest feedback with others. I often take initiative and I like to help develop and maintain a good structure and workflow between disciplines. I often experiment and try out new and different solutions. I like to laugh, and I want everyone to feel relaxed around me. My area of focus is VFX/shaders in both node networks and HLSL.
Around 10 years old, growing up with cartoons and and DVD's going to the cinema was always something I cherished. So one day after seeing my still favorite movie (Legend of the Guardians - The Owls of Ga'hoole 2010) in theater for the first time I remember thinking to myself: "I know what I wanna do".
When I heard from my older brother that Sweden actually had one or two academies in game development around 10 year ago, tI didn't take it to seriously. Studying to become a game developer back then was nothing big, as high schools really didn't advertise or encourage that industry. For me it was to either become an architect or a chef, but inside I really knew I wanted to work with games as an environment artitst. But now I am finally midways of making my dream a reality!
I realized when I went to High School that I wanted to become a character concept artist but later in The Game Assembly, I noticed that I got more art blocks from it which made it harder to enjoy the process of concept art. I found a new passion when I tried Zbrush, which made it easier to evolve my skills from a 2D standpoint into 3D, and felt like I reached greater highest in my skills.
