I have always wanted to make dynamic fire and smoke, and I wanted to find ways to develop this without simulating flipbooks, basically to understand more of the shader math behind these phenomenons. In order to make something that felt exciting I brainstormed on a series of events. And I thought why not capture a natural scenario where fire and smokw would appear, so I decided to go with a storm effect where lightning hit a tree and to capture the wild reaction of the tree when hit by it. Made in Unreal Engine.
