Round of applause for our sponsors

I've wanted to work on the gaming industry ever since I researched that you can make a career in the gaming industry.

After graduating from Architecture I kept chasing the world with no limits. I think I found it in the entertainment industry.

Right from the start. The first time i was inspired by the old carton classic. Like the Disney Movies and the animated cartoon series on tv. I always wanted to write amazing stories, creating characters and bring them to live and for me it feels like right now it is the time to explore these fascinating world and become a part of it. I am still just a student, but i am already in love about what i am learning everyday. I am so glad that i choose this way and also excited about what comes next.

I've realized I'd wanted to work in the industry when I had an internship in a school where their teach 3D Design and had much fun with that.

The First time it came to my mind was at my Local Trade Fair, where i saw the Stand of the SAE Institute and realized you can actually learn how to do this Magic called Game Development. After that i couldn´t think of anything else i want to do beacause Gaming was such a big Part of my Life that i had to do it.

I never really knew what I wanted to become. Every job I thought of didn't seem bad but often just, well ill-fitting. So after graduading, I worked for 2 years and during that time I found out about the SAE institute in Vienna. I thought I'd try my luck in a course there. I like to create and I like to realize my ideas so I was quite happy to give it a try. Just fitting right in for the first time since looking for an occupation I like, is not only a relief but also extremely motivating.

I realized this when I found my love for games and animation of all kinds, I thought what they were doing was extremely cool and i wanted to join it when i was able to

I got the feeling of wanting to be Part of the Game creation industry at the end of my Art Abitur

At first there weren't any big intentions behind it, I just wanted to learn new stuff and suddenly fell in love with the programs and the projects I was using and creating. Always taking enjoyment out of my project I hope somebody will take as much enjoyment out off them as I do.

I first realised when I was about 17 and had worked in many different trade jobs and found none of them interested me, so I decided to look at what I really like doing. I found that I mostly enjoy playing video games and creating art, so I put the 2 together and started practicing and creating digital art and setting out on getting the aproppriate skills and education to pursue it as a career.

During upper secondary school, I was studying programming but we also got to learn photoshop which opened my eyes to being creative on a computer! How awesome was that? During this time I also started to play more computer games, the games with the most influence on me was The elder scrolls: Skyrim and the Assassins Creed franchise. That's when I realized that this is an industry I need to work in.

I've always enjoyed creative media but only recently realized it was a career I wanted to pursue.

I realised that the creative media industry was the right place for me, when I was introduced to sculpting and ZBrush, which was around the time of May 2018. The process of creating characters and creatures totally fascinated me and so I pushed myself to learn more and more about the whole workflow. This was possible through the lectures in my University but also through the tutorials of the great team of Flipped Normals, Rafael Grassetti and Dominic Qwek.

During my first stint at University studying Architecture I was introduced to basic 3d software (sketch up). It was at that point I realised that 3d was what I wanted to do. I've always been an avid 2D artist and this was something else I definitely felt like I had to explore. I saved up the money over a few years and then went back to university to study Interactive 3D animation qualifying in the summer of 2018 with a high 2:1 Degree.

Since I was young, I always loved drawing and creating in general; I also enjoyed playing video games. This is why I decided to direct my studies towards a creative field that brings together my passions. After 3 years of study in the Game Art sector within the SAE institute in Geneva, I wish to direct my professional career towards the profession of character generalist and in the long term character artist.

I've always been passionate about creation in general and particularly drawing. It leads me to discover a game art school where I could learn 3d modeling and I knew from that point that creating for video games was what i wanted to do. Discovering such beautiful and intriguing sceneries and characters trough a story in a video games as always been an inspiration for me and I wanted to be a part of it.

I realized when I started taking drawing seriously and got interested in 3D. I watched an anime about game design and got interested in the subject, found ressources and wanted to get into a 3D modeling and game art school. After the first year, I decided to choose VFX over Game Art as I found it to best suit me.

I remember watching Brave and How to Train Your Dragon over a decade ago, stunned by the magic, and thinking "I want to do that someday". University and my first job led me to science and tech, but I always knew art was my true passion. Remembering that feeling, in 2020, I took the plunge and signed up for a VFX and Animation course in Geneva, ready to bring my dreams to life.

I've always wanted to work in the creative industry, but lacked the support to pursue it wholeheartedly. However, I'm now actively working to provide myself with that chance. First by enrolling in a game and VFX animation course in Geneva where I'm gaining the skills I've always wanted to acquire. My ultimate goal is to see my name in the credits of games that transport players to imaginary realms and give them a break from reality, just as games have done for me.

Since I first got my hands on a computer, I immediately started doing editing, videos, design, etc. It became my main point of interest, and I and always tried to learn new things to improve everywhere that I could. I knew I had to work in the visual creation field as an adult. When I first learned about my current school, SAE Institute Geneva, I knew that it was my dream carrer path, and I'm grateful to them for offering this learning cursus.

My whole life I enjoyed playing games and drawing. When I was 16 I realized that art is something I want to do professionally especially in the games industry since it was what always inspired me. At 18 I started studying Game Art & 3D Animation at SAE Frankfurt where I first got introduced to 3D Art. Since then environment art has become my biggest interest and what I want to do. I love creating immersive 3D environments, realistic props and learning new workflows to improve my art everyday !
