When I first saw such a fantastic and realistic Cinematic Trailer made for a specific game, my whole soul was utterly addicted to it. I'm in love with this way of translating the dream into reality.

The earliest memories I have are of me hunched over a piece of paper drilling dragons and dinosaurs over every blank inch of white space. Art never registered as a professional path for me until my early twenties. My pursuit of academics was void of passion, and amid what felt like a midlife crisis a friend of mine introduced me to the entertainment industry. It was like I found the missing piece to my puzzle, and when I had my first taste of 3D modeling I knew this was what I was meant to do.

I've always loved games and films with epic stories and worlds to lose myself in, but it took me some time to realize that working on games is an actual career option. Since then I've learned a lot about modeling characters in 3D in hopes that I could work on similar epic titles to the ones I've enjoyed playing myself.

I always knew I wanted to be an artist. When I was kid, that meant drawing for a living. In high school, that meant being a 2D concept artist, illustrator, or animator. I didn't really know about the other diverse options I could take in the entertainment industry until my second year in college, when I learned about Gnomon. That's when the world of the CG industry opened up to me.

I knew I was an artist since the day my father first booted up Studio Artist for me when I was four. I sat there playing for hours, and that passion has persisted throughout my life for as long as I can remember. However, my interest in the entertainment industry was sparked by my other passions for film and video games. Realizing there was an industry that encompassed so many of my passions, I eventually enrolled at Gnomon, where I am currently studying to pursue the things I love!

I realized I wanted to be in the Entertainment Industry while I was attending Cal Poly Pomona for Computer Science and Graphic Design. I was apprehensive for awhile about my career choices right out of school. I discovered Gnomon while attending one of my college courses and took a couple online classes and it ignited a passion for trying to create the most cinematic visuals possible. It made me think I can be part of an industry that would make me want to work rather than work for what I want.

I've loved video games like most people for a long time. I've always been fascinated with how the environments were created and would spend a lot of time staring at certain props or pieces to see how they were modeled or textured. Over time this led into taking 3D modeling classes and learning more about the development and creation behind video games.

I've been an traditional artist my whole life. After being exposed to CG in the world of architectural visualization , I realized that I can push my art to another level and make a career out of it in the entertainment industry.

When I was in fourth grade, I was introduced to Halo 3 and Gears of War. I was immediately drawn to the characters and would spend countless hours unlocking the best armor and skins in each game. That attraction to character art and design has only intensified since those early days. Since then, I've been studying anatomy and sculpture, learning new software, etc. and couldn't be more excited about making characters professionally.

I found my passion for movies at a young age. Movies influence much of my work. Six years ago, I was studying interior design when I stumbled across a video on the making of Avatar. After watching it I knew I had to switch paths. I decided to take the initiative to pursue my passion that constantly teaches me more about this magical world.

I wanted to go into this industry once I discovered how limitless my work can be. I love the idea that I can learn everything needed to create a world.

I've always wanted to create realistic art. I was in high school sitting at a desk drawing monsters and soldiers and making them battle in my head. Watching movies like Avatar just made me think I could do more with my ideas. I am first and foremost a storyteller with a desire to one day take my ideas from my sketchbook to the big screen. Everyday I wake up excited to create cg art.

I've always loved all forms of visual storytelling. However, it wasn't until college when I got really into behind the scenes motion capture videos and realized how breathtaking and emotional CG can be with today's technology. At that moment I knew CG was the tool I needed to tell my stories.

My passion to be a 3d artist began with my childhood love for storytelling. After watching toy story for the first time, I knew I wanted to this for all my life.

I took an interest in the creative media and entertainment industry while I was in high school. I started creating content as soon as I started learning the programs. It was just a hobby at first but slowly turned into a passion.

About me - I am Vinay Bhardwaj ,a 3D Character artist with a focus in Character and props development for video games. I am currently studying at Gnomon School of Visual Effects. My interests include playing video games, Board Games and Passionately listening to music. My main goal in this industry is to one day contribute my skills to the development of large video game titles and to open a studio after gaining experience and to learn different pipelines of game studios.

My name is Joyce Jiao, or Jiao Jiao. I'm an international student who has been studying in the States for almost 6 years now. Currently, I'm studying in Gnomon's 2-Year Digital Production Certificate Program. Before Gnomon. I was first originally studying Architecture Design at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and later transferred to the film and new media department there to study 2D animation and cinematic theory.

The first time I realized I wanted to work in the creative media was when I was 7. I was playing with my friend's Super Nintendo at his house, and I kept experiencing an overwhelming feeling of appreciation for how beautiful the game was; I believe it was The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. I remember wanting to grow up to be an artist who can make beautiful environments for both Games and Film whenever he wishes.

I was browsing social media when I came across an ad about a game creation course. I had been working in a nutrition store and decided to look into education involving 3D. I started to draw daily on a pad with purple Planet Fitness pens in between customers and then set out to get started on my journey. I moved into my aunt's camper in her backyard in California to one day study at Gnomon. Through the freezing nights, rain drops leaking onto my bed and a pesky dog I worked until I got accepted.

When I saw work being done for games I grew up playing like call of duty, god of war, and uncharted. My love for gaming motivated me to pursue the digital realm and I have not looked back.

In undergrad studying computer science and informatics, I missed being a part of storytelling. After looking into animation and spending time with oil paints, I learned more about the entertainment industry. I helped me realized that there are opportunities to be a part of the storytelling process while staying rooted in what I love about traditional media, translating sight/observation and exploring the emergent properties of the artistic medium.

I first realized I wanted to work in the 3D industry when I was studying computer science at a community college in Austin and would stay up to 4 am every night working in Blender, watching tutorials, and learning everything I could about concept art and the 3D world.
