Round of applause for our sponsors

I first realized I wanted to get in the creative industry in my senior year of high school as my art teacher introduced me to stop motion animation. And since that I have been more and more interested in this industry.

I realized I wanted to work in this industry after watching several technical breakdowns in the bonus features of DVDs.

My family was from a small village in Vietnam. My parents worked very hard and sacrificed a lot for my sister and I to have the best education and better life. My mom dedicated her life to raise me up. I used to complain about her being over-protective, but as I grew, the more I understood it is because of her powerful and endless love for me. Therefore, I want to use Visual Effects to create inspiring stories about love, family, and dreams.

My major is illustration and motion media design. Received the Bachelor of Fina Art in Beijing Film Academy. Currently studying for a Master of Fine Art in Savannah College of Art and Design.

I've always had a deep love for art and animation in particular, but it wasn't until I made an animation for a digital media class that I realized how much I enjoy story telling and developing animations. After that I transferred to SCAD and have since been working with the professors here developing my skills.

I've always been interested in cameras, making movies, and working creatively with computers, but I never though it was a career opportunity until I took a design class my first year at university. Since then I've grown to love the creative outlet that motion design gives me and I'm still playing with cameras and computers to make movies!

In highschool I went to a public lecture by Ralph Eggleston. His process and work inspired me to seek a creative media major of study.

I first became interested in the creative media and entertainment industry when I was eight years old after watching a tv commercial on how Tinker Bell was made. At thirteen, I started producing public service announcement videos, using Adobe Flash and iMovie. Then last summer, following high school graduation, I taught myself Autodesk Maya, Cinema4D, and several programs from the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite by creating a total of over fifty projects in approximately three months.

I have been a gamer my whole life. About five years ago, I came to the US by myself. I accidentally got into game development major, and I totally felt in love with it. I still remember the first time I learned about Maya and Unreal Engine in the classroom, I felt like I entered a brand new world. Since then I have been working 3D art with passion. Watching tutorials about new art styles or a new 3D technique is what I do everyday. I believe working with passion is more than anything.

I've enjoyed drawing and creating since I was a kid growing up in Montreal. Everything I took in became an inspiration. Words became pictures, progress and growth became memories and little by little my newly found interest spawned into a passion that has become a large part of my identity today. I chose to pursue it as a career and still believe that there is a beauty to putting effort into crafting something you love and seeing it make someone’s day.

I came to art school to pursue a career in sequential art, but fell in love with game development. The idea of creating this massive collaborative project from nothing, and developing a whole world that players can experience and fall in love with drew me in. I decided to change my major after my first quarter of school and never looked back.

When I was 6 years old, I had my tonsils removed in Germany. I didn't speak a lick of German and was bored out of my mind. Then, my favorite nurse hooked up a game cube in my room, and turned on Super Mario Sunshine. It was all over for me after that, I couldn't see myself working on anything besides games! The solace, escape, and entertainment that I was able to get from sitting in a hospital bed truly changed my life.

As being a cinephile since my early childhood, I’ve always enjoyed the fantasy and stories that every film brings. For me, film not only has the function of entertaining people, it also uses compelling visual narratives as a powerful storytelling tool. That is the reason that I love visual communication and why I want to be a motion designer.

I realized I wanted to work in the games industry, funny enough, from my mom. I never thought of combining my love for video games and art until one day my mom caught me running upstairs to play Skyrim. She asked me where I was off to in such a hurry and I told her, which prompted her to respond with, "You play video games enough, why don't you do something with that?" And it just kinda clicked!

In my early years of high school, I was given the opportunity to take 3d modelling courses at a nearby university and I couldn't stop learning and exploring the realms of creative media and entertainment since then.

Ever since I first started my creative journey back inn 2007 and realized how collaborative efforts change the world around me I attached myself and have soaked up as much as I can.

I have a lot of comic books and animation videos when I was a kid, and my first comic book is Dragon Ball. Can't see clearly when I realized I wanted to work in the industry, but I am more and more certain that I like what I am doing.

My parents both work in the creative field and after doing poorly with traditional education they suggested I try a creative career. I never considered a career in Art but thanks to them I've found what I'm passionate about I'm grateful every day for their support.

In 2017 after being involved in different art clubs in my High School.

My major was traditional sculpture and I started to think about how to make good use of my skills, and I started to learn 3D modeling skills. I became completely immersed in the game as I was able to model and improve the character visuals in the game that I usually enjoy. Now, I came to the U.S. and majored in gaming.

I've always wanted to go into some form of digital media, but after taking VSFX and animation courses at SCAD I fell in love with technical animation, and spent the last year and a half working on several short hybrid 2D/3D animations!

Shhh, it's a secret I'll never tell.

When I was an undergraduate in China, I attended an interview and I was asked about video gaming related topics. I were so confident and can explain things smoothly about gaming, and one thing that I can't ignore is that I am excited about sharing and analyzing video game. Then I asked myself why not just be a game designer?

After I did my thesis project as an undergrad, I realize that I wan to know more about VFX
