Round of applause for our sponsors

I have always been consumed by Blizzard’s games and worlds, most especially the Warcraft universe, providing me with a strong source of inspiration for my ongoing development as an artist. From about 8 years old I knew all I wanted to do was make art for this particular fantasy world, which ultimately has led me into the games industry.

I've always had a passion for telling stories through environments, though wasn't quite sure where I would fit in. However I learnt there are some amazing communities of some really talented artists who help you grow and develop in this creative field. Networking with these people, getting critiques and sharing knowledge, I have found a strong interest in creating props and environment art for games!

Realised around the start of last year, where I got into 2D work such concept art and design to explore my options but I've always had a passion for designing and making environments.

I remember watching one of the Star Wars movies as a kid and was in wonder of how Jar Jar was created. My dad told me what he knew about CG. I later discovered Pixar and since then, I've had the dream of working for them or somewhere similar. As a kid, I was proficient in crafts, geometry, and thinking three-dimensionally. I also became a fan of sci-fi and all movies in general. All of these things melded together to plot the course of my career.

It was basically when I was a kid and in high school. I have always loved movies and video games and always new I wanted to work in that field.

Back in 2018 when I was curious about doing 3D CGI that mostly seen in movies, so I attend the most basic, budget-friendly course in my home country. I came with a mindset to develop leisure skillsets for my hobby, which is creating epic scenes like most fantasy genres, and just naturally I became more and more invested in the scene. There are so many things to learn, many layers that contribute to an effective VFX/CG shots.

I have always been passionate about creativity, throughout high school I was writing comedy performances and playing around with video game design and writing musical pieces and arrangements. When I stumbled onto a course in games and interactivity I found a passion with it.

I was into creativity since childhood. First in traditional art, then in digital 2D and now in 3D and animation.

At a very young age as i was inspired by Japanese Animation.

i want to be a rigger at a studio one day

I've been interested in creative media for as long as I can remember. When the opportunity arose in highschool to study it, I took it without hesitation.

It's always been a passion and a love but I didn't really know I could make a real run at it until I was 30

I grew up loving animated movies and cartoons, but never considered that it could be a job until I saw Dreamworks' Rise of the Guardians as a teen. I was so blown away by the beauty and the sheer joy of it, and I realised I wanted to be a part of that world, helping to create beautiful scenes and inspiring moments.

Around 2020. When I tried exploring all kinds of jobs and opportunities.

I was inspired by my early video games, like Spyro and Spore, and took interest in the art and creativity. Now days I am a huge film, video game, TV and music nerd, so I would really like to work in any creative area.

not sure what can i do

I've always loved being creative! I have a background in Theatre Production and Graphic Design, before I start my studies of Animation. I've found a love for 3D art and am currently honing in my skills on Modelling, Rigging and Concepting. I would also love to learn more about the Production side in the industry also.

Watching Freddie Wong on Youtube and thinking he was my long lost brother.

I realise i want to work in the creative industry since the second year i study in Swinburne

Final year of high school, I was somewhat lost as to which direction to take for University. I ended up interested in Games Development as this was a creative interest of mine. After entering the course, I shortly narrowed my interest from programming to the more creative side.

I started realising I wanted to work in creative media during highschool. A close friend and I worked on a script-parsing game which I made super simple, sprites for. That process and feeling of collaboration and feedback stuck with me, in a weird way, that felt fulfilling. Over these several years, after I've been through TAFE and during university, I find my wanting to work in the industry ever-increasing as I learn more and more about it.
