Netflix & skills - Stranger Things contest
I designed a creature based on an octopus.
This creature has the habit of hiding in dark rooms. Its large head is very sensitive, that's its main weakness, that's why we almost never see it. It has long tentacles measuring more than 3 meters, in order to catch its prey more easily while staying at a distance.
Left for Camp
I want to create a treehouse for the character Dustin Henderson. The treehouse will be rich with references and 80's culture for a child growing up from that time period. I want the treehouse to have a sense of loneliness but be littered with strong memories of the past.
Working on Progress
The following winners made a lasting impression on the judging panel and secured highly sought after badges.
It is not essential to have watched Stranger Things to enter this contest. This will not give you an advantage of other contestants.
Stranger Things is an American science fiction horror drama television series. The series as a mix of investigative drama alongside supernatural elements portrayed with horror, science fiction and childlike sensibilities.
For this brief, we want you to design a character, prop or environment that best represent this era, the characters, and the town of Hawkins. Your entry must be an original 2D concept design that could fit seamlessly into the Stranger Things franchise. Like any good concept design artwork, the judges will be looking for originality, strong design skills, and storytelling abilities.
Note: You can use 3D as part of your concept art design, but it should not be the primary focus. The 3D elements should be used to support and enhance your 2D design.
Requirements & Deliveries
Entrants need to share their progress. We don’t want you to just upload a finished artwork. We want you to create an entry page that shares your work from initial concept and idea, all the way through to your finished presentation artwork. This not only allows members to follow along, but it helps the judges truly understand how you work.
For your final update, entrants must submit a Final 2D Artwork of their finished design. This must be 1920px on the longest edge. Any aspect ratio is allowed.
