Round of applause for our sponsors

I actually realized from a pretty young age that this is something that I wanted to be doing. When I was younger, I would spend my free time just watching shows on Cartoon Network, and strangely, the movie that made me want to do animation initially, was 'Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School'. It wasn't that it was exceptionally good animation, but it sparked my want to bring characters to life through animation, and probably explains my bias towards 2D over 3D.

I always have wanted to but never was able financialy until I earned enough money to pursue my dream of a career in Arts. I quit a very well paid job as an executive chef in a restaurant and a settled life to have the chance of maybe one day doing something bigger.

The spark that ignited my curiosity about how games were made was "Asterix at the Olympic Games" back in to 2010. From there on I started playing various games and eventually at 2013 I've had my first experience with games' programming with Game Maker. Over the years I've studied various programming books and tinkered with many game engines and currently I'm studying for my BSc in Games Programming at SAE Athens.

I've always loved drawing and writing and immersing myself in fantastical worlds. It has sort of been a secret dream to work in this industry for as long as I can remember. Now in my 20s I realized that it's what I truly want to do and I decided to start university all over again on a new career path. I now want to create and share fantasitical worlds with other people to bring them joy and tell stories. like the ones that cheered me up on even the darkest of days.

When I was really young I wanted to work in the creative field. Though I don't really remember why, but for me now, I enjoy the storytelling and creative aspect of it all and would like to continue focusing on that moving forward.

It was when I had watched The Lion King when I was still in high school, there is a scene which stands out to me. This in turn made me realize that I want to become a creator because the beauty in animation lies in being able to produce content from your imagination. Furthermore, being able to tell a story to an audience has been a long term goal of mine so that is another important component I consider as I expand my skill set as a creative.

I can't really pinpoint a time when I first started wanting to work in the creative industries but it's main cause would be all the artists I've been surrounded by most of my life, either friends, relatives or online figures.

I have always enjoyed watching animated and live action TV and movies and would find myself trying to draw all of the animated media I enjoyed. My drawings were always private and I never thought much of them besides just wanting to improve. Then i found SAE and started thinking I could make a career out of a passion of mine. I had to do a couple storyboards for projects and realised it was an aspect that I really enjoyed and I am now pursuing a career as a storyboard artist.

I first got a taste of the media Industry while i was at shool and did my final exams. Iwas working on a video where I wanted to promote and educate people about archery. I wanted to make a 3D intro and terribly failed doing so but 1,5 years later i got my chance to learn 3D. Now I have finished my first part of studying and worked 1 Year as an 3D Artist on the Game "Winter Resourt Simulator Season 2" I continued my studys now and try to learn way more about the 3D World.

At the end of year 12 for me, it was a carpenter or become an artist and I chose animation.

I have been drawing and generally "creating" for a long time now. I went from creating my own stories to drawing my own monsters and creating worlds in my head. To me it's a wonderful way of travelling as I like to call it. I get to go to places no one else has been and create creatures no one else has seen! Art is a very powerful tool, one can spread a message through just an image and I believe that can go a long way.

I wanted to work in the creative media and entertainment industry from a very young age actually, as a lot of people here, I presume! I just didn't know exactly how I wanted to express my creativity! At first I started with music, then I went to university for two years and studied graphic design and eventually, for the past 3 years, I was drawn to 3D and the gaming/filming industries with which I am most passionate about!!

I always wanted to bring my stories to life since I was a child. I thought writing was the only way to do it, until I realised animation was also an amazing way to share them with the world in an impactful and engaging way, at times even more so as they combine stories with art and music to raise them to a new level.

a couple years ago when my origional career path wasn't working for me.

I always loved drawing characters and grew to enjoy seeing others design and bring characters to life through animation. From there I began researching and studying character drawing which then became a hobby. I figured the next step might be to learn how to animate and take it from there.

I realised that working in the industry was important to me when I was being pushed to choose a career in highschool - I had figured out that a regular university track would not work well for me. I struggled to find a course that suited me, until I found my university. I tested the waters with trying animation and I fell in love very quickly. I'm just now finding my legs.

From a young age I started getting involved in video games, and I simply fell in love with the worlds you could engage with and the stories you could experience through the eyes of the characters, so ever since then I dreamed of creating my own worlds and realizing my dreamscapes. I seriously started thinking about diving into 3D art during my high school years, but it wasn't until 2019 that I found out a college close to me offered courses in 3D Animation and Art that I could realize that.

There is not a specific time when I realized anything. Since I can remember, I am making stories, gameplay and levels in my head. When I was a kid my favorite games had editors, where I could make my own levels like Warcraft 3 and Infamous 2. For me this is fun and that is all there is to it .My reason why is simple. I like making stuff up.

My name is Kiriaki Moulinou. I am an illustrator and filmmaker currently residing in Athens, Greece where I study 3D Animation & Game Art.

I have always been interested in art. After high school I did some travelling, worked in corporate then trades but something was missing - creativity and art. I did a summer series at SAE and found I love animation, and a fire to produce great work had been lit in me.

When I was 10 years old and started drawing as a hobby. I knew since then that I wanted to stick with that goal to become a part of the animation industry, and use my drawing skills for a career.

I've always had an avid love for animation and art but it was fueled further when I enrolled at my university and that got me into a much more competitive and creative field and drove my passion further to become better and intuitive since

I was a big fan of animated movies and tv shows like the Pixar films and Cartoon Network shows and growing up I've wanted work in the animation industry.

I was creating and drawing from a really young age, so I always knew that I would follow a career in the creative space. At around 15 years old I realized that I wanted to get into the game industry as a game artist.
