ArraquSabru - TEM 3 Day workshop
This is the 3Day Extra Mile workshop I did with Pablo Munoz Gomez.
Hello there Rookies !
I hope you are all doing great and staying inpired everyday π
Iβm just passing by to share this character Iβve been developing since the 3Day workshop with Pablo Munoz Gomez.
I couldn't help but invest some extra love and effort into the character, so I took it a bit beyond our live sessions.
Let me introduce you to the final character : ArraquSabru, or just Arraq amongst friends. π
In the ancient Akkadian language, "Arraqu" translates to "very green" and "Sabru" signifies a seer, dreamer, or clairvoyant. So, loosely translated, ArraquSabru means "the Green Dreamer" in old Akkadian. Isnβt that cool π
Let me dive a bit into the creative process. After initial brainstorming and blocking out the first shapes with Pablo, I began to see my character taking on insect-like features. This led me to research spiders, beetles, moths, and other insects for inspiration. During my search, I stumbled upon a very interesting Japanese beetle, whose colors, shapes, and textures totally captivated me.
And you know what they say, with Japanese beetles comes Japanese culture! So, I also drew inspiration from Japanese Monks' outfits, which I decided to incorporate into my character's design. The end result? A unique Japanese beetle-alien-monk hybrid! π€£
I had an absolute blast during these 3 days, and I'm very happy with the outcome. I hope you find Arraq as interesting as I do. π
To breakdown this character I took several screen's while I was working on the process so that I could show what where the different stages of the work on the day workshop
