Round of applause for our sponsors

I grow up reading books, comics, mangas. I also watched lots of movies and I always loved the feeling that only movies can give. And one day I realised I wanted to give this feeling to other people and I have decided to enter in the industry.

The breadth of my experiences is always evolving as I explore new concepts. This lead me from a background of STEM Preparatory Classes into computer science at university. I then reconciled my professional perspective with what I was doing in parallel, by gaining a strong interest in game art and development. As a result, I enrolled at ArtFx and graduated with a Master of Programming in video games and VFX, specializing in technical art.

When i was a child my 1st memory of video game was with the Nes with Super Mario bros, it was so colorfull and feel so interactive and challenging but my real 1st game i could enjoy on my own was the " fantastic three" of the N64 (Super Mario 64 / Mario Kart / Ocarina of time) i spend countless hours after school to get in every spots possible on every maps ans ask myself how they made such great experience ! after the next big reveal was Halo 3 my real 1st online Multiplayer and Fps maps !

As soon as I was tall enough to watch my dad and big brother play Warcraft 2 then 3 and quake III Arena on the home computer. I was fascinated by the fantastic stories and my love for fiction grew alongside my love for video games. I've always been better at expressing my feelings and ideas through art, and video games are a way to immerse myself in a completely different universe where I can incarnate any number of different characters. It is a medium that speaks to my heart.

I always liked to analyze and know what is behind the creation of my favorite movies and video games. Working in this industry is for me an opportunity to discover the fascinating backstage of this environment.

Well, actually, it's a cool story. It all came by a surprise. I don't have the story of me always wanting to do it, and was born with a pencil in my hand. I was into writing since a long time, maybe since i knew how to write. But well, not everything is going according to plan, and the dream of writing fell. So plan B was pretty quick, without any thinking, i was just into 3D Art. Yeah, 3D, the love of my current life, was a Plan B.

I discovered 3D with blender during the 2.6 version and started 3D more seriously when I entered ArtFX 2 years ago.

I've always been interested by Arts in general but i discovered the CGI technics throughough movies (The Polar Epres was my very first one and then Monsters&cie) and series which gave me a special enthousiasm in the cinema industry.

My interest for VFX became a passion when I discovered "Cosmos : A spacetime Odyssey", in a design conference festival in Barcelona I was attending, called “OFFF”. Filipe Carvalho did a brilliant presentation of his projects, mostly opening sequences of prestigious movies or TV shows. He started by showing us his reel but he only talked about few of them in detail. And there was "Cosmos" ... I was blown away by the poetry and the quality of this opening sequence.

Thanks to my family who let me watched a lot of movies when I was young, I kind of always knew I wanted to work in the movie industry. As it involves design and animation, FX was for me the best combination.

When I was in Highschool I started to discover a new world: the world of the animation / VFX industry. As soon as I started to understand that I could do that for a living I jumped straith in this new universe and here I am.

At the age of 13, I was fascinated by films and especially by visual effects. I was fascinated by creating something that didn't exist.

I started playing around in Google Sketchup when I was 14 but only took 3D seriously when I was 17, by playing around in Blender. I am currently studying the TD program at ArtFx Montpellier.

I've always had an imaginative mind and a fondness for drawing. Unknown worlds were a fascination as soon as I learned to read, and soon I fell into the video game world. I wish to produce such worlds through Artistic Direction and Concept Art. I would love to work on games like that ones I played In my childhood, like Spyro, Ratchet and Clank and Tomb Raider

I've always been fascinated by art in general and movies, so I decided to go at ArtFx to learn more about it. The passion for creating images grew over the years and I then discovered the FX. Everything changed I really wanted to work in that department creating huge explosions, waterfall, destruction, etc... Yes I wanted to blow things apart ! =D

I always wanted to create visuals. At first, it started with Fine Arts and then I realized I wanted to do more than that. I turned myself into animation to finally be introduced to CG and VFX.

I realised I wanted to work in the entertainement/creative content industry when I was in high school after discovering 3d modeling and having conversations with other artists. Now I'm looking for a job inside a game dev company and create games!

I realised i wanted to work in this area thrree years ago when i decided to go for my passion instead of of a science diploma. I wanted to tell stories, to creat worlds and mood and most of all to convey emotion. Or at least be a part of this process.

I've always had a lot of creativity since I was young, since I never stoped creating things ...

I always wanted to tell stories. I have been writing many weird short stories since I was a child. Then in hight school I decided that I wanted to show them with pictures. I then entered a cinema section, before falling in love with the world of CGI and VFX when I discovered the work of WETA and Framestore. After 5 exciting years at the school ArtFX, I am now working as a digital compositor in Paris. website : lucasmichelvfx.com/

One day I discovered the making of the planet of the apes directed by Tim Burton. Since this day I always wanted to work for the entertainment industry

I realized it when I discovered Star Wars 3's making of, which I watched more than the actual movie at that time.
