Sun Disk - Character Design

Together with a friend we decided to create a character based on a single aspect. So we together chose "Burning Sun Disk" and worked from there.

My goal was to produce a Character from initial concept ideas and references all the way to the final design including diffrent explorations and variations.
I focused on producing a piece which had strong sense of shapes and colors, and a solid shape language.

I'm hapy I was able to put my ideas down on the paper in a clear and detailed way.

Took me about a month to complete this work as a fun side project. I enjoyed researching about chinese culture and traditions and also about asian fantasy character design.

It was really interesting to see the difrent approach we each took to the subject of character creating, and which aspect we put forth and focused on more.

This project taught me a lot in terms of clothing design and also in term of asian fantasy design, which I've never tackled before this.
