Once more 'round the sun

Based on the concept "Sorry we're closed" by Wojtek Kołaciński (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/8w1PZG).

While I absolutely loved the source material, I wanted to make it my own, opting to drastically change the lighting and degrading the gas station even more.
The main objective to me was revisiting the same area 15 years past the original concept.

The main character in the concept got me thinking.
What if he decided to set up base camp in this place?
What if he wasn't alone?
What if he for some reason had to leave again?

Storytelling is important to me, and I wanted to imbue the place with more history.
I tried expanding on the concept by thinking of both man-made and natural events.

The Visitor

With "The Visitor", I wanted to revisit the world of my previous entry, with no predefined artwork.
I used Unreal Engine 5 as a sketching tool to challenge myself, trying to find out how well I'd do with a blank canvas.

During the creation I was especially thinking about the gameplay in The Last of Us: Part II, and I tried emulating the feel of those environments, with clear options for the player to try navigating an area.
