Round of applause for our sponsors

I've always been captivated by the world of games, and it all began when I laid eyes upon the breathtaking art of Dark Souls III, acting as my introduction to the creative industry. I am now in my third year at CDW Studios, working towards my goal.

I have always created art throughout my life ever since I was young. I knew that I wasn't interested in most of the other industries people got jobs in, but rather I wanted to do something creative. Initially, I wanted to become an architect in year 11, however once I discovered 3D modeling in year 12 due to a VET course I was taking, I decided that the VFX Industry was where I wanted to go.

I started learning 3D in my own time on Blender in 2018. I found myself spending hours a day on personal projects and learning new things. I found Flinders University/CDW Studios and enrolled and have loved it ever since

Early on in my schooling, likely just before middle school. Found a love for monster and alien designs inspired by films Alien.

My whole life i have had an interest in drawing and creating art. It started when i was a kid, in the living room, watching spiderman, dressed up as spiderman, drawing spiderman while also using pipecleaners to create a Dr Octopus for my toy spiderman figurine to fight against. Throughout highschool, i started the digital side of art. Bought myself an ipad and thats where i really started to focus on my art. Since starting university, i have drifted away from 2D and have more of a focus on 3D.

I began my drawing journey in my final year of high-school. I realised it was the perfect combination of practical skill and creative problem solving. Having grown up around video games and films that I love, I ended up developing a fascination with world and character building.

In high school, I learnt early on that I enjoyed the creative classes.

I first realised I wanted to work in this industry after participating in a 3D modelling holiday workshop held by CDW Studios. I found Sculptris really easy and amazing to work with as I hadn't had experience working with 3D programs before (high school only offered to teach basic art and design classes). I then decided to change my career path to focus on this and discovered that CDW Studios offered a degree in conjunction with Flinders University. I applied and am now a current 3D student.

I've always loved art as a child, but it was never pushed in my education, I spent a lot of time finding out what kinds of jobs I wanted to do from casual work, not getting payed much with bad conditions and full time work being payed pretty well, I but I soon realized that I could find happiness in money alone, I started drawing again in mid 2019 and for my 20th birthday on the 23rd of September I got my Intuos Medium and haven't been able to picture myself doing anything else since.

In year 11 of school (2018) I did a full year of design class and absolutely loved it. It showed me how much I loved to create, and after doing several holiday workshops at CDW Studios I realised I wanted to study there and work in the entertainment industry.

I've always been interested in art and wanted to work with something involving creatively. I learnt that graphic design wasn't my thing and I enjoy animating a lot more and I think it'd be cool to pursue that.

I've been putting pencil to paper and drawing to my heart's desire for as long as I can remember. I have always been drawn to the idea of creating a piece of work to be proud of, being a part of something special that people can enjoy and share. I am currently delving into new realms and learning new skills that broaden my possibilities of working on professional productions.

One Christmas my Auntie put a VHS in the machine and a movie came onto the tv. That movie was The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. Ever since then it has been my dream to contribute to a movie like that. I enjoyed the practical and digital effect that trilogy had and the perfect union in which WETA achieved that. I dream to be able to work on a movie in which I could help in both digital pre-production and work in the practical effects department as well.

As a creative person from an early age, I always thought that I would be an artist for life. I pursued my passion and become a traditional painter and now a digital 3D artist. My journey to this place has been one in the making for the past 24 years. It was originally sparked as I saw the mastery of illustration of Marcos Mateu-Mestre in the animated classic Prince of Egypt and this passion returned as a 36 year old once again reminded that I was created to tell stories of meaning.

When I saw the film 'doctor strange' at the beginning, I totally love it. When I was young, I really like watching cartoons and playing video games. I hope I could have a chance to work in the entertainment industry.

I first realised I wanted to work in the creative media and entertainment industry when I started drawing a lot of my favourite DC superhero and anime characters from the age of 11.

Iv always wanted to be an artist, from as early as Kindergarten. I was so fascinated with modelling and high fashion growing up and when I was too short for the modelling industry I turned to making clothes- I later found out I could add my love of gaming too and make both clothing and the models as a Character Concept Artist. From then I was set! That's what I'm going to do.

In High School when we were tasked with thinking about what we wanted to do with our lives and taking our future into consideration I thought about it and realized I wanted to become a part of an industry that creates stories and worlds like what I had fallen in love with growing up. I wanted to become involved in creating things that might inspire others or engross them in a story or world as much as I was.

I want to tell cinematic stories that will awe and impact people. Fists to the grinder, through blood, sweat and tears to create a moment of unforgettable magic.

From a very young age, I have always had an interest in arts, it wasn't until a few years ago when I became serious with it and wanted to go further with my skills. I've also been interested in the development of animations and games, specifically character designs and concepts. I hope to one day be able to be a part of that creative process and create something everyone can enjoy.

I first started working in the creative media industry as a graphic designer in 2012. It was always just a hobby that I sometimes got paid for, until the end of 2015, when my conservation job funding wasn't renewed, and I put in a last-minute application for Flinders and changed my course. I currently study part-time at Flinders/CDW and freelance jack-of-all-trade art and design. I am currently expected to graduate at the end of 2023.
