Round of applause for our sponsors

It was back in my senior year of high school. A new 3D animation program was offered at my school so I decided to give it a try and I really enjoyed the class however at the time I never really saw it as a potential career path. That was until I discovered an internet show called RWBY made by a guy named Monty Oum. He is my greatest inspiration to work hard and create works that inspire others the way he inspired me.

I'll fill this later

Since i realized that a dedication can take me beyond that i though.

Grade 10. I took an animation course where they taught us every medium of animation at least I've ever heard of. I really took to 3D and it became a 3 year hobby and later became my field of study and currently my goal as a career.

My first three years of college, I studied architecture at an intense program at Syracuse University. Although there were some creative aspects I liked, overall, I came to realize the field was not for me. On a whim, a couple weeks before the end of my third year at school, I decided to leave my University to try 3D animation. It was a gut decision, and I cannot pinpoint exactly why I chose it, but it was the best decision I have made in my life.

As a teenager, at around my 12 years old, I noticed an interest for creating props and models, but the lack of materials and the curiosity led me in to the digital side of modeling and texturing .

When I was in Highschool, I decided to pursue my dream to be involved in the movies/videogames industry, so I began to learn everything that could help me achieve that dream.

Drawing is always been my interest and habit since I was a kid. Since I have introduced to video games, I was amazed by their artworks and design. I was impressed by those world created by artists, environments, characters and so on. The more I learn about the industry, the more I got interested in the way how the artists/designers worked, how their works got developed into a better solution. I want to be one of them.

In late 2016, when I was Grade 11 in high school, I came into realization of the possibility of making a living with art, from then on, I have been inspired by handful of artists and friends to push my skills to higher level.

While working on my second music video for my 'aRc Aurelia' project, I decided that I really wanted to be a part of the video creation process. After realizing how much it would cost to get the result I was looking for, I decided to spend the next few months teaching myself how to create and edit music videos on my own. By the time I was finished creating 'A girl like me' I had fallen in love with creating music videos as much as I loved writing and recording music.

As a child i grew up watching Disney and Pixar. I always wondered how they created life out of cartoons. This inspired me during my childhood and to follow my passion to become a 3D Animator.

I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil, and quite honestly spent most of middle and high school doodling on the sides of my homework instead of answering the questions. A few years ago the Oscars highlighted Big Hero 6's animation team and the awesome work they did, and that is what sparked my love for concept art and passion for visual storytelling. The basis of good stories is good storytellers, and with a little more growth, that's what I hope to be.

I was a former Make-Up artist and my goal was to become a Special FX Make-Up artist but because of my allergy, I unfortunately couldn't reach that goal. One day, while browsing the net, I found a VFX breakdown of movies and realized I can apply my skills in the CG world instead of the real world, which was a new goal for me.

I was always passionate for animation, applied both on feature or games.

It all started when I was in grade 6. A small flare for writing short stories and to create my own characters was really fun at that time. That spark slowly turned into a fire to make some amazing contents. In order to make it visually engaging and entertaining the medium I chose is animation.

I was 8 years old when Finding Nemo released. My dad told me, when the movie got over I looked at him and said "I want to make Nemo all my life". Since then he always encouraged me to be an artist.

Ever since I realized that working behind the scenes of movies and games is a viable career

Hola! Soy Jimena I am a motion designer and storyteller from Mexico City, that enjoys using 2D and 3D media to bring beautiful and exciting visual narratives. On the third year of high school I was looking for civil engineering programs at diferents universities until I found a new program called Digital Animation and after reading the description I was very excited for the posibility of working on the things I like most

Because I touched the photography area firstly, I find I am good at the colour palette and the composition of photo. Then I keep going until I get in the entertainment industry.

I think the first time i realize that i want to be part of this industry was when i was around 11 years old and i went to a comic workshop once by week after my school in my city santiago chile. I remember how passionate i was (and still i am ) about making drawings and tell stories my grandmother support me always and she was who took me to the work shop. she hallways say I born whit a pen in my hands.

I was always in love with movies since I was a little kid. After I got my bachelors degree I wanted to pursue my dreams. Everything changed with the first class I had on after effects, I remember having so much fun, frame by frame tracking a boxing glove to a guy's hands. I could spend hours trying to integrate two images, making them look as real as possible. I loved bending the reality, changing the image, creating a new world; my own reality. It seemed like magic to me...a technical magic.

In 2006 I created a YouTube channel called Rayovision to post my short films. Years later I got some popularity in Mexico, but it was hard to get everything I needed to tell my stories. In 2009 I found a course in Mexico in which I learned the basics of 3D. I got amazed by the possibilities of animation, so I kept studying and finally in 2018, I had the chance to study the 3D Animation & Visual Effects in VFS. I loved the environment to work and learn next to people like me!

Half way through studying Biomedical Engineering I realized more and more that I wanted to find a career that was very creative but also had the technical side to it, and I realized games would be an amazing mix of the two. This is when I realized that games, entertainment and creative media was the way to go. I wasn't sure what I actually wanted to do within those industries, but I knew I just wanted to become a part of it.
