Here is a serie of commercial advertisings for a space travel company called Proxima Systems. Just grab a ticket and start the travel.

Round of applause for our sponsors

As I wanted to try Gravity Sketch and VR, and make a small spaceship. The idea to push a story and try to work on a space travel brand campaign for Proxima Systems in a retro sci-fi style has became an evidence.

So finaly the spaceship became a small part of this serie. And the occasion to push my knowledge on space assets by making planet shaders, textures, and a bunch of animations took the biggest part.

There's four different advertisings, and my comprehension on tools and techniques between each could be clearly seen. All of them has been made last November after less than six months digging 3D. Work time is less than a day each, from the idea to the final animation.

This fake company headquarters was also the main location in my short animation The Cycle, in the film of the year category. Everything is connected.

Software used are Gravity Sketch, Blender Cycles and Eevee, Photoshop and Vegas Pro.

Project is shown from the first one made to the last one.

This first one shows a simple planet tech with homemade shader and lighting. All rendered in Blender.

The Spaceship made its biggest but quick apparition, and it's also my first try at compositing some elements and make a real cut into Vegas Pro.

See Gravity Sketch caption and Eevee render from the ship bellow and some process images.

This second advertising use the same texture for the planet but on a different shader, more earth like.

The spaceship is still here but as a tiny silhouette hovering upon the planet, just in the middle of the shot.

I tried to push a bit more the composite with a small amount of anamorphic lights, and better animation movements.

Rendered in Blender Cycles and cut into Vegas Pro.

This third animation lost the spaceship in space, but focus on procedural planet render. Trying to simulate gas giant atmosphere movement, and capture something more poetic as space is.

Aso worked on render optimisation that allows me to get a longer and smoother animation, in the same render time.

The last animation from this serie shows another kind of space environment with asteroids.

As the third one, working also on optimisation allows me to render more in the same time.

Close asteroids are Hi Poly ones, but others are baked low poly version.

The space station has been added in no time to add a bit of storytelling and only made from a torus and a displacement texture from JS Placement software.

High poly asteroid.

Render/Diffuse direct/Shadow/AO/Diffuse

Low poly asteroid.
