Round of applause for our sponsors

This is the final project I have done for the organic modelling basics at Lightbox Academy in Madrid.

Based on a poster of Flavio Greco Paglia and changing few things.

I´m a film lover and this is a tribute to Kill Bill´s Saga and also for Quentin Tarantino and Uma Thurman. Thank you for all the film-culture you gave me with your films.  This is an exercise for practise realism and likeness. This is the first likeness I have done. I developed all the process of 3D from modelling to compositing.

THE PROCESS

I have done everything you see in the scene and I developed all the steps of 3D: Modelling, Texturing, LookDev, Lighting, Rendering and compositing.

I started modelling the characters with ZBrush, all the assets and props were made with Maya and the cloths with Marvelous Designer. The tentacles and creatures also were made with ZBrush.

At first, I tried to capture the essence of Uma Thurman face and then I did the zombie. At the same time I did in Autodesk Maya the cinema scene (seats and the rest of assets). For the skin texturing of Uma I used Mari. Instead for the zombie I create a base skin in Mari and then I add the details with Substance Painter. And the hair was made with Xgen. The cloths, assets texturing were made with Photoshop and Substance Painter. For the tentacles I create a procedural material with Substance Designer and then I applied this material in Subtance Painter. I used Arnold for rendering the scene.

APPRECIATION FOR

Special thanks to my teacher Manuel Mané and all my classmates, that help me to develop this project and they gave me a lot of ideas. Without them this project would have been impossible. Also a special thanks to my mum that gives me a lot of feedback and is so realistic and always tell me what she really thinks.
