THE LAST ARCHITECT | ABOVE THE STORMS | THE PLANET

Buried underneath enormous thunderstorms, the city of The Last Architect causes the viewer to lose all sense of perception and find another point of view. The buildings arrogantly extend upward to graze the thunderstorms, creating a stifling atmosphere and visually depicting the impact of human behavior on the environment.

«From up there, we would recognize our Earth only by its unalterable, insistent blue light. The great blue planet is magnificent in name only, while a thousand pieces of debris are floating around it, vestiges of our insatiable taste for conquest. »

THE LAST ARCHITECT | CONCEPT ART

RAGNARÖK | THE CEMETERY

Ragnarok is the story of a young Viking warrior trapped on a nightmarish island. During her ordeal, she faces the awakening of the gigantic serpent, Jörmungandr. Ragnarok is coming ...

After the creation of the concepts, I created the matte painting. The main challenge was to reproduce the texture of the CG rocks in a large landscape.

RAGNARÖK | THE CORRIDOR

CONCEPT | LAYOUT | SET DRESSING | LIGHTING | COMPOSITING

The rocky corridor shot arrived in the middle of production. I had only one day to design it, without any specific references from the team. I based my research on the layout from both the beginning and the ending of the film. I finally mixed these two types of environments to ensure a smooth transition between the different sections of the horrific island.

TOKI & DEWEI | THE RACE

DMP | BACKGROUND COMPOSITING

Set in a world of childhood comics, Toki & Dewei is the story of two children trapped by their imagination. They will discover during an epic quest the value of their friendship and the importance of sharing.

I chose to highlight the duality of the characters throughout the color scheme of the movie. Based on a double lighting, one warm and one cool, reflecting their ambitions, the sequence had to show the transition in the characters' progression.

Based on this direction, I was able to easily go from the warm and comfy mood typical of children discovering their dreams, to the chilling mood of competition and selfishness.

EOS | CONCEPT ART

EOS is a young boy torn apart by the divorce of his parents. Deeply marked by the conflict between his parents, he brings to life his worst fears and nightmares. Based on the Black & Chrome, I chose to treat the sky like a living entity: it moves, evolves and attacks the child as the embodiment of his hostile living environment.

OPALE | CONCEPT ART

Paris, 1948. Streets and districts have been submerged by the waters, but the city of love has rebuilt stronger than ever before. It’s through these endless illuminated streets that Claire is looking for a person, a man who is waiting for her at the most unexpected place: L'Opale.

Paris, city of love with never equaled splendor, shines with its light and colors, and highlight in the eyes of all the sweetness and the prosperity ... A moment of abandonment and dreams that gives the future lovers the possibility of a meeting.

FINAL LAP | CONCEPT ART

Sometimes, it happens that the world evolves in such a way, that melancholy occurs. Final Lap is the story of that moment, in a futuristic world where fragments of happiness are no more than a memory. In this film a race car driver will rediscover the freedom he had forgotten. After various concepts created by the team, my goal was to gather all of the ideas submitted and, to finally bring to life this gigantic race, caught between technology and competition.
