Forest Creature and The Hunter
Hello! These two projects are part of my student demo reel. I graduated from PIXL VISN Media Arts Academy in January. Hope you like them :)
My first project is based on the amazing art "Hunter" by Pavel Hristov.
I knew from the beginning I wanted to sculpt every part of the character in ZBrush. Here is a preview from low to high poly.
The only part I didn't create in ZBrush was the ropes which I made in Maya using curves.
Once I was satisfied with my sculpt I moved on to Marmoset to bake and get the appropriate maps for Substance Painter. There, I only worked in the base color, as I wanted to handpaint every detail.
The skirt went through many trials and errors. In the end, I decided to make it in ZBrush by combining seperate pieces together with one big piece underneath.
Here are also a few close-ups of the weapon.
Final renders
My second project is based on Sveta Pikul's art "Horned"
I loved the concept and, at the same time, I wanted to add my own elements to it.
I started by sculpting in ZBrush.
When I was done with sculpting, I baked in Substance Painter and started texturing there.
Again, as with the previous project, I wanted to show the handpainted details.
Now the last part of the character was to create the hair. For this, I used Maya's Xgen.
In the end I rendered in Maya and here is the final result.
Thank you for checking out my entry! :)
