Still Life Render
This is my entry for Rookies 2023. Everything in this submission is part of my school assessment at Media Design School.
This project is created for my mini-project component in year 2 at Media Design School. We're required to create a still-life render from a photograph that we took on our own. I took the photograph at MDS photo studio and then measured the headphones and book to get a precise scale for modelling in Maya. For the displacement map, I did it using ZBrush. I did the surfacing/texturing with Redshift in Maya, Substance Painter, and Photoshop. I rendered the scene with Redshift in Maya. I did the lens distortion and colour grading in NukeX.
The narrative of this project: The bookworm lays in bed with their book and headphones, ready to immerse themselves in the stress-free serenity of story and music after a long day as a university student.
This project is created for my lighting and rendering component in year 1 at Media Design School. The 3D assets in the scene are provided by Media Design School and I'm only responsible for the surfacing/texturing, lighting, and rendering. I did the the texture with Substance Painter and Photoshop and render it with Arnold in Maya.
