Beautiful Lies

This project is based on an excerpt from Beautiful Lies, a novel by Lisa Unger. The text gets to the centre of what it really means to love someone, deeper than just the surface level. In order to effectively convey the meaning of the text, the animation makes use of collage to recreate the look of a diary so it reflects the intimacy of the subject matter.

Typography is the main component of the animation, and bold fonts were utilised to draw attention to the keywords. The modern elements create a harmonious contrast with the vintage imagery, offering a fresh perspective on the digital collage, and a vibrant colour scheme was used to emphasise that concept of merging the new and old, while also maintaining cohesion throughout the animation.
