Param Thaker 3D Blender works
This entry consists of multiple projects that I made in Blender.
TAJ MAHAL
Presenting a full model of the Taj Mahal. The Taj situated in Agra, India, I always admired Taj Mahal for its beauty. Finally, I got the opportunity to make it from the ground up in Blender. I wanted to make a big scene project in blender and found Taj to be a good choice.
The hardest part for this project was to establish the scale and scope of the scene. I mean The Taj itself packs a lot of details, creating it in blender we also have to look for the surroundings. This is where I had a lot of problems with the scope. The initial version only had the Taj with a plane basement. This restricted me for the final renders. That is I was very limited on where to place the camera to make the model look right. Lastly I also wanted to do animation work as well which was also limiting and stretched the project too far.
The version you are seeing here is the third iteration and still not what I had in my mind, perhaps I am too ambitious for my current skill set.
I learnt a lot in this project for sure. Mainly of Volumetrics, sapling addon and Instancing in blender. Instancing helped me a lot to speed up the process of stuff like modeling, texturing etc. and also for renders.
I also learnt how to properly finalize the scope of a project, how to distribute details over the distance ( I mean how much detail/polish an object with respect the distance it is viewed should have ).
DELOREAN
This is my first successful try at a car model. I was always fascinated to Delorean Since I saw Back To The Furure. For starters, I saw Delorean as a good opportunity to model as it doesn't have a lot curves, it is relatively a simpler car.
Here I have just focused on the model and not the background.
I played a lot with reflective and transparent materials in this project. I also learned how to deconstruct a car to start its modeling process, how to view a car and make decisions how to model it. This was the execution and result that I came up with, still a lot to learn.
JAPANESE SHOP
This was a different type of project undertaken. I have tries to represent a Japanese style shop here. As it had a different kind of art style, my modeling approach was also different. I actually built it like a house from Lego. I mean first I modeled assets including the roof plates, wooden frames, walls individually and tried to place them in a certain way in which they would look believable.
Here I learnt about the bevel modifier in Blender and its importance in making models and renders. At last, I made the whole scene Orthographic which turned out to be a better choice.
PATH SCENE
This is actually my very first Blender projects. Its a very simple scene, just a very simple modeled house on the right, a tree on the left and some walls.
Here I learnt about particle system and depth of field of camera, the basic stuff for sure but to me it was like learning magic. I was able to create this scene effectively with help of both the above mentioned stuff.
