Welcome to a little rundown of my artistic journey as a student of Howest Digital Arts and Entertainment!

I have a ways to go, and a lot to learn, but I'm proud to show a sliver of my progress that's occurred over the past several years. I started my studies with an extremely limited knowledge of the arts, and these pieces signify how much I've grown and accomplished.

The Chambers

Welcome to the Chambers, a collection of passageways hidden deep beneath the earth's oceans.

This is the culmination of my first Environments course at Digital Arts and Entertainment, and the first time I properly used Unreal Engine.

I designed, modelled, animated, textured, and structured everything in this environment on my own. It is fully playable with an .exe build to prove it!

Take a peek at the presentation video below for a more in-depth look at this piece.

I aimed to give this environment a bulky, old-school FPS atmosphere, and utilized a limited number of modular assets to decorate the scene.

1963 X-100 Hovercar

During the 1960s, people imagined that in the future, cars would fly. Little did they know that decades later, we'd still be stuck with boring wheels. Had hovercars become a reality, this is what I imagine a 1960s presidential vehicle would have looked like. It definitely would be a thrill to cruise on magnetized roads!

This was the final project for a 3D high-poly modelling course during my first year as a student at DAE. Due to at-the-time pandemic restrictions, the project was created mainly through self-study! All modelling and material creation was done within Maya, and the project was rendered in Arnold.

Draenei Stave

On a more stylized note, I concepted and created a stave based on the Draenei race and color scheme within the Warcraft world. The weapon was hand-painted in 3D-Coat, which I found was an incredibly fun software to learn.

Modern Room Design

Dabbling in baked lighting, I put together this modern room scene within Unreal Engine 5 using open-source assets. It's rendered in real-time, with no alterations done to the final image outside of the engine.

Mr. Grump

Last but not least, Mr. Grump. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to showcase this adorably cantankerous stylized creature I recently finished :)

Concept by Cory Loftis.

Thanks for taking a look at my progress! Until next year!
