Exploring 3DMax

An exploration of my first introduction to 3DMax. Over the three months I have spent learning about this subject I have developed a great excitement and passion for the world of Arch-vis.

The Japanese Tea house has been my favorite 3DMax project to date. This was the first time I really explored shading and depth through lighting, opacity maps, noise and reflection and it also was my first time being introduced to environment maps to create a realistic back drop to my model.

The Arabian Nights scene was created as our second last assessment in our introduction to 3DMAX. This assessment below required us to model around an object that we had created from our own inspiration.

I chose to model my lighting around the inspiration of dragonfly wings, I did this by using the array tool and multiplier modifier. My favorite part about this image is the lighting and the soft shadows it casts on the pool below.

This assessment below was our first modeling project and required us to model off an already existing image we found online.

The second image in this slide is the picture I decided to model my first image off.

I chose this image as I was drawn mostly to the credenza, through the detail and line that it creates and I also liked the soft colour pallet as it was a nice contrast to the dark and moody painting of Gucci mane.

I thought the tea lights would be a good shape to explore as my first model and I created the green Mushroom lamp for contrast simply out of the lathe and line tool.
