Project 1: Bloodlust

My most recent project, Bloodlust. Responsible for all models, textures, lighting, and set dressing. Although set in a fantastical medieval town where Vampires roam, I focused on building architecture that has a base in realism.

I wanted to focus on building a realistic city architecture to practice making modkits and a believable city space that a player could navigate through. It was challenging to create a realistic modkit that transitions between wood Tudor buildings and stone architecture.

This project was solely created by me using: UE5, Maya, Substance Painter, Substance Designer, Photoshop, & Zbrush.

Detail shots of my environment and set dressing.

Progress 01

Progress shots of my main corners in my environment. The biggest challenge was solidifying my modkit and making the connection points between the building floors, wood & stone, and building foundations feeling correct.

Progress 02

Flythough of my environment.

Props

I designed, modeled, and textured these props. Most were based on research about real-life goods during the Medieval times.

Modkit

Breakdown of my main modkit pieces and props. These modkit pieces were used most heavily, but some one-off pieces were made where needed.

Materials

Material spheres for my tiling textures created in Substance Designer.

Coniferous Forest

This was a project completed my Junior year at Ringling College. This was a biome based off of a coniferous forest in Germany, The Black Forest. It was the first time I tackles foliage and an interior space, so there was a lot of experimentation.

This project was created solely by me using UE4, Maya, ZBrush, SpeedTree, Substance Painter, Substance Designer, and Photoshop.

I experimented with Substance Designer to create a majority of my materials. I created a fern, moss, dirt, and rock material with procedural moss placement.

Victorian Villa

This environment is the second part of the coniferous forest. It is a villa built inside the forest home to a hoarder. This was my first attempt at an interior space and I focused on creating a tiling trim sheet for my walls as well as re-useable props to get the most mileage in a short amount of time.

A breakdown of my entire modkit and props that created this environment.

2013 Volkswagen GTI

This was a sophomore year project to demonstrate hard surface modeling.
