Nicole Lin: Motion Design Portfolio 2023
Hello, I'm Nicole Lin! I'm a 2D and 3D motion designer from Taiwan, currently pursuing a motion media MA at SCAD. Here’s a collection of my work from 2022-2023. Hope you enjoy it!
Expectation
This project is about my understanding of the darkness of life.
From the moment we are born, our experiences and education give us the ability to dream. We have expectations and goals, but as we become aware of the world's cruelty, doubt and disappointment set in, and darkness takes over. Yet, after each period of darkness, our past experiences become a source of strength. The ups and downs of emotions teach us that current sadness may contribute to future happiness.
Life is like the fireworks in the sky, where collisions lead to beautiful displays. Although the collision makes us struggle and painful, time will wash away sadness and bring moments of blooming in the sky.

Dollargut’s Dream Department Store Title Sequence
This title sequence is made for a fantasy novel named Dollargut’s Dream Department Store by Mi Ye Lee. Dollargut’s Dream Department Store is a place in Dream town. They sell dreams to people and animals. Customers come to the department store to buy dreams while they fall asleep and pay their emotions after they wake up.
Concept
The concept of this title sequence is to visualize the description of each floor feature in the department store in the novel. For example, the first floor’s eye scales show whether the guest wants to fall asleep and come to the store, the neat decoration on the second floor, the messy clearances cart on the fifth floor, etc.

Rose n' Siren Eyes Title Sequence
Rose N’ siren eyes is a show designed around the love entanglement happening between men and women. Our objective is to portray the love of women with a haunted wedding since it is the final modality of love. The wedding will be immersed in a spooky, haunted atmosphere to keep up with the feeling of obsession and struggle in love.
Concept: Haunted Wedding
The tone of the title sequence will be dark and eerie. Visual elements like an eye rose, joss paper(spirit money), red lines, and divination blocks will be used to symbolize a traditional and horrifying Taiwanese wedding, at the same time conveying the show’s genre.
