This is my final project for Foundation Term at Think Tank Online, it is a recreation of the concept made by Toraji "Moomin Kitchen". With this project I put many things into practice and learned to manage my times. Enjoy!

Moomin Kitchen

(Completed in a month)

This is my final project for the Foundation Term at ThinkTank. The concept art belongs to Toraji and I worked on every aspect of the 3D version of the concept.

Blockout, Camera Perspective & Modeling

To start recreating this concept art I had to do a bit of a rough blockout of what it had to look like, while also placing the camera in the correct perspective to get as close to the view of the scene as possible. For the blockout I tried to add as little detail as possible but without losing the main shape of the objects to just give me an idea of how the final scene should look like, after that I started adding details to the models and doing some lighting tests, since the whole scene had to be completed in a month and I couldn't afford to make mistakes.

Texturing & Lighting

After the modeling process was complete, I moved on to doing the UVs of the whole scene and started with one of my favorite parts, the texturing part. For the textures I focused on the most important objects within the scene (other than the character) to focus a little more on them. The objects that I gave the most importance were those made of wood or metal, and to the SSS of the character. Simultaneously, while I was testing the textures, I was adjusting the lights to see if the materials worked correctly.

Volumetrics

Since I wanted the lighting to match the concept and its essence a bit more, I added fog to intensify the rays of light that reflected on the character and the table, I adjusted the values and colors to give it the look I wanted.
