Butterflies and old Gods
Sharing a couple projects that are dear to me.
The Mechanical Butterfly
The Mechanical Butterfly was a project that I slowly fell in love with, and now, is one of my proudest pieces.
This was my final project for the Hard Surface Modeling class, to which I used many different references to build an idea, then adapted it to my own liking.
The butterfly was modeled and animated in Maya - as I wanted to see it come to life.
The shading was kept to a minimum, I simply used a curvature node to add erosion detail, I also did some light compositing in After Effects.
Egyptian Altar
This is an Egyptian Scene I built for my texturing class.
Without any real modeling knowledge yet, and the first time diving into Substance Painter, I had as much fun as I could with it.
The idea was inspired from watching Marvel's Moon Knight. My fascination for myths was reignited and I wanted to create something that would explore it even further, which became this Egyptian Altar to the goddess Bastet.
The tiny Scarab and Bastet statue are the pieces I enjoyed working on the most.
