Qenz, a Saharan Odyssey.

Qenz is a fantasy world set in the Sahara Desert. It follows the story of Chouchou and Mina, two siblings in search of the Qenz, a legendary treasure. Who will they meet along the way?

My main inspirations for this project were the Amazigh people of northwestern Africa. It was a pleasure to have such a vibrant and colorful culture to draw from, and I hoped to maintain those qualities throughout my project.

Nimble, playful, and reckless, Chouchou always runs headfirst into everything and lets his older sister handle the details.

A proud and dutiful huntress, Mina protects her little brother from the dangers of the desert and teaches him how to be a better person throughout their journey.

Mina's quiver, which he finds herself restocking frequently, and her inkwell, which she uses to enhance both her and her brother's abilities with enchanted markings.

A charming but mysterious figure, Ouzra offers to guide the siblings through the many cities and oases of the Sahara. He soon proves to be reliable, but his intentions remain unclear...

A year into their journey, the spirits protecting the Qenz corrupt Ouzra. He betrays the party and reveals his true identity. Izrem is a disgraced prince who will do anything to bring glory back to his family.

Kind, wise, and a little crazy, this mysterious Seer saves and shelters the siblings from danger. She helps them recover their strength and warns them of the challenges to come.
