To begin here are some shots from my upcoming shortfilm:

Now, let's break down my work a little bit.

I wanted a realistic look for my film, so I had to take some historical references , and try to recreate with fidelity the aircrafts of that era.

A red Fokker Dr.I

and a blue Spad XIII

The recreation of those historical models took a lot of time, but it was for me the most enjoyable part of the production. Once I was satisfied with the model I tried different texturing styles and I sticked to the most realistic one.
