Architect as a background and 3d artist as a passion. I discovered this passion quite late but this is now all I want to do. Today, I'd like to show you the latest works I have done in this incredible world. I hope you enjoy it!

Life is beautiful but it is not always easy.

During the last months, I had my ups and downs when it came to understanding what to do with my life. I was finishing my master’s in architectural visualization, but I got to a point when (I guess like many others) I was confused and didn’t know what was best for me. I once read something that said: “When you are low in motivation, perseverance will be your best friend”. Well, holding on to this, I took the decision to focus and devote myself to conclude the journey I had started and to finish the final project the best way I could.

In every entry you’ll find in The Rookies, besides the actual result (however it is), in the background, what cannot be seen is all the hours, days, months of dedication and great effort that every individual has put into it.

Last but not least, I want to thank everyone who supported and trusted me during this journey.

With that been said, I am now really excited to show you my latest works below.

Into the dream

This video is the result of the final project as a student at the "butic the new school".

It is known that CG art it’s not only a way to represent real life or what the future will look like, but it’s an art itself. For me, it is the way to represent emotions, what you can feel, what you can imagine, or I’d rather say “what you can dream”.

In fact, the theme of my project is “dreaming”, but not just any dream, but dreams that with motivation, perseverance, and effort can become reality.

The video starts with a series of memories from the past when that little girl played with her toy and the little house, dreaming of her perfect home. Then the video follows with some sequences from her imagination but only at the end of the video it’s revealed that the dream has become true.

Making of

I started to model this Project in September 2021. Before that, I had seen a lot of archviz videos and I liked the idea and got inspired by ZOA studio’s videos and their dynamism. I knew that it was not a conventional style for archviz where everything is usually very contemplative, but I wanted to try something different.

Here the challenge was to timely render with V-Ray all the sequences while balancing the time invested in modeling, texturing, etc. Finding the right level of detail was key.

Overall this project took me about 8 months to complete.

All credits for this design goes to Milieu Creative. This design was created for their Project “Gordons bay house”.

Reference 1º shot

For the first shot, the research was a bit longer. What I wanted was to create an intense scene with sharp contrast. Actually, that contrast between blue and red color is quite common, so I divided the scene into two parts: red for the right part where the light is coming from inside, and blue for the left part where the majority of the light comes from the outside.

Curiosity: one of the objects you can see in the scene below is a personal painting I made for a good friend. Next to it, you can see the original picture.

For this project I used: AutoCAD, 3ds Max, V-Ray, Marvelous Design, Quixel mixer, Substance Painter, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Premiere Pro.

Still images

Now, I would like to share some unrelated still images I have done so far over the last months/years.

Reschio hotel

Thanks to my last entry in the Rookies, I had the opportunity to write an article in Renderout!, one of the most important 3D magazines in Spain, about the creation process of Reschio hotel.

When I look at this image, I feel the serenity, relaxation, and carefreeness. I almost can remember my childhood in the Sicilian countryside with my family.

Special thanks to José Manuel Cuello Sáez for allowing me to use his statue.

For this project I used: 3ds Max, Marvelous Designer, V-Ray and Photoshop.

The green bar

This render is very special for me as I remember when I was working on it, I could realized how much I enjoyed modeling and texturing.

For this job we had to choose one of the colors proposed by the school; I chose the green one, and I wanted to replicate a Temakinho restaurant in Milan.

For this project I used: 3ds Max, Marvelous Designer, V-Ray, Photoshop, and After Effects.

Mediterranean sunset

For this exercise there was only one rule: we had to include Alberto Campo Baeza's Grob House and merge it into nature.

Here, I let myself get inspired by my homeland, Italy, with its wild beaches and warm sunsets.

For this project I used: 3ds Max, Forest Pack, V-Ray, and Photoshop.

Organic modelling

This was a technical exercise to practice organic modeling and the ability to observe and reproduce a reference object.

Here the most difficult parts were modeling the leaves and finding the correct texture. Another challenge was to create the dirt properly.

For this project I used: 3ds Max, V-Ray,  and Photoshop.

Thanks for watching! That's all (for now...)

If you saw something you like, feel free to drop a high-five.

If you saw something I could improve and want to give me a hint, drop me a comment below :)
