Hi! This is a project I did for my last year while studying VFX in Voxel School. The full process was so hard, but I´m pretty happy with my result, I love chipmunks and I wanted to do it more fantasy... Modeling, Sculpting, Texturing, Shading, Rigging, Grooming (Xgen), Environment and Compositing was done by me.

Breakdown renders

Below shows a breakdown of the key stages of the pipeline and what tools and techniques I have used to achieve the final results.

I started the modeling in Maya to get a base low poly version to later sculpt in Zbrush all details and export a displacement map.

Rigging

The rigging is still in WIP,  is quite simple, for a very simple animation and pose. I´m not doing animation for now. I'm planning to finish the job with a pose and a simple animation

Xgen Native Grooming

Fur Base Color, projecting images on the geometry to get real colors

I began creating the base description with large amount of fur and then I created the secondary description for long fur, the tail was very hard to make it, but fun :)

To create a realistic iteraction of the armor with the grooming I created a low version cache as proxy to use it in Xgen as a "mesh cut" that way, it cuts perfectly and it can has animation with the armor.

Environment

I decide to create a marvelous environment for my little warrior with large amount of vegetation, flowers, grass, mushrooms. It´s fully created with Quixel Megascans, trees are from evermotion, Scene Assembly and lighting in Maya with "MASH" and "Arnold". I´m gonna show the process of creation since the first render to the last

Thank you for seeing my work! I hope you like it :)
