Hi Everyone! I'm very proud to show you my first project as a SkyUp Academy student. It was my first approach with softwares like ZBrush, Maya, Photoshop and also my first time modeling a full character. The concept of the creature I made is based on the "Huan", a mythical creature that features in the ancient bestiaries of China.


Here you can have a look at the progress from the early blocking stages to the final detailing stage. I started the project using Z-Spheres to find the primary shape and then I sculpted the secondary details using the Dynamesh tool of ZBrush. Once I was happy with the shape of the creature, I Remeshed the model and gave it Subdivion levels in order to reach higher poly count and greater detail. Finally, I sculpted finer detail and prepared the model for exportation in Maya, decimating it.
