Round of applause for our sponsors

I first wanted to get into concept design when I was 16 and enrolled into a college for two years of game design, then going into university for three years of game design before finishing a masters course in creative technologies. I developed a specialty in 2D character design, but have since branched out into 3D for not just concept work, but also game asset creation and all other sorts of areas in art and design.

When I was about 10

Since I was a kid I always liked to draw and create my own moving paper toys. During my school years I always followed the arts route. Studying Computer Animation & Visual Effects sparked my love for sculpting characters focusing on the realistic side. The Alien race 'The Pearls' from the movie Valerian and the city of thousand planets are one of my favourite characters of all time and I want to reach that level of skills.

I became interested in the industry when I was 14, and from there set my heart on going to university to eventually join.

From the age of around 13 I was making graphics for a friend's YouTube channel and from there I self taught various programs and techniques, it wasn't until college that the game industry piqued my interest, creating my first, albeit rudimentary, game. Studying Graphic Design at University has really helped focus my interests and allowed me to specialise my skillset into UI Design.

While working 10 years working as an Audio, Visual and Lighting engineer in the cooperate and events sector. I became interested in projection mapping. This interest developed into content creative for projection mapping which ultimately developed into Animation creation and visual effects compositing.

I used to love playing games with detailed worlds such as The Last of Us, and I would find that I spent more time exploring and inspecting models and textures ,and how they came together to create these gorgeous worlds rather than playing the actual game. From there I would research industry pipelines and how the artists went from concept art to a fleshed out environments and I knew I wanted to play a part in bringing art to life.

I was a professional wrestler, and started making content to promote my matches. I soon found the content creation more exciting than performing itself to went back to university!

I love video games and I love art, so I just thought about putting them two together and I discovered my passion for digital art. So I further researched what I could do and how to get there, I then started down this career choice.

I've always been interested in art, especially 3D which stemmed from my admiration for gaming and 3d animated films. I graduateed college with a computing qualification and began looking into 3D courses at univeristy.

I've always had a passion for building and creating things. I tried my hand at engineering and mechanics when I was younger but realised I found more enjoyment in Art. When I ditched engineering and went to Art College I discovered Zbrush and 3Ds Max and fell in love. 2 years of Art college down and I knew what I wanted to do. And ever since university I've persued the industry ever since.

I have always been interested in the industry, ever since I saw my first Pixar film as a child. It seemed like magic how people could bring their imagination to life like that. I was obsessed with the films, but also the behind the scenes features on the DVDs, it looked like such a cool thing to be a part of. Since then I have always had a love and curiosity for the art and technology that goes into the creation of these things. Studying and learning now is growing my love and excitement for it.

From when I was 10 when I created my first stick animation.

right before i started my senior classes

I have always been an avid fan of both games and film and have appreciated all the art especially in animated films and games. When i Started an animation and visual effects course i knew i wanted to work in the industry however i didnt know which aspect which is why I took such a broad degree. Once i got my hands on Sculptris and then Zbrush i was hooked on creating different characters and wanted to create something that you can have a strong connection to.
