Round of applause for our sponsors

In Grade 11 I enrolled in a "computer gaming" course, which introduced me to Blender and the world of 3D. My portfolio was then accepted into Carleton University where I learned exactly what I wanted for myself in my future career in 3D.

When I first started playing Minecraft in 2011 and could build whatever I want. When Creative Mode came out, it was a dream come true. I built so many different buildings, creatures, and environments that it completely changed the direction I wanted to take in life. It inspired me to want to create my own environments and games, so I went to Carleton University and studied Interactive Multimedia Design.

I've been drawing since childhood, video games and university got me interested in 3D.

During my industrial design degree I had the opportunity to be an intern at a prototyping and manufacturing company, where I was part of a team that created props for TV shows such as Titans, American Gods, and Star Trek: Next Generation. This exciting experience inspired me to pursue work in the product design and entertainment industry.

When I decided to pursue journalism as a career.

I remember making my first 3D character in my introductory modeling class and remembered how horrific it looked. That summer I decided that I wanted to prove to myself that I could create a quality character. I spent my whole summer studying anatomy, hard surface modeling, sculpting, cloth and hair modeling. After creating a character I was proud of, I couldn't stop! I loved every part of the modeling process and I'm still very passionate about improving my skills ;)

I've always liked to doodle, but I never thought I could ever go anywhere with my art/writing. In my final year of high school, with some guidance and advice, I decided I would pursue that which I enjoyed.
