Uncover Hidden Talent: Hire the World’s Top New Digital Artists
I've had a passion for games ever since I was young but it wasn't until recently that I realised that it's an industry that I could actually work in myself. After this realisation I started working on my application test and can happily say that I got accepted as a Game Designer at PlaygroundSquad in 2021!
I first realised that I wanted to work with making games at the age of 14. I finally saved up enough money to buy myself a PS4 and finally got the chance to play some of the amazing games that I had watched some of my favorite youtubers play. My interest grew tremendously over time, and I am now on my journey to make my dream a reality.
Gamer at heart since 3 years old, in 2008 I discovered the world of modding and started building custom maps for Star Wars: Jedi Academy, and then moved to Half-Life 2 (and other Source engine games). Building environments has been a creative outlet & passion that slowly developed into what I love doing today. Once I found out tools such as UE4 was publicly available with resources for learning, I found the desire to be part of studios to bring environments to life, for the games I love.
After graduating the International Baccalaureate program studying mainly science subjects, I decided to pursue my long-time dream to attend an art school. Being introduced to Maya when I was studying Arts in Eskilstuna Folkhögskola piqued my interest in 3D animation as it is a combination of both physics and creativity.
I've been working with pixel art and pixel animation roughly since 2016 but felt like I wanted to branch out to other mediums as well. I got into 3D modeling two years later and started playing around with 3D animation a year after that and since then I haven't looked back. I've just always been very intrested in watching things and how they move, the motion in people and animals; both in real life as well as in movies and games. So to be able to bring that to life by myself is pretty amazing.
It was about a year ago that I realised I was interested in the games industry! With a background in 2d illustration and graphic design I had a basic foundation to stand on when it came to working in 3D. So far it's been fun and very challenging, but I'm determined to keep goping to improve my artistry and skill!
