Uncover Hidden Talent: Hire the World’s Top New Digital Artists
Ever since I was little I've always had new worlds bursting out from my imagination. At first I got them out through crayons and pencils and later with tablets and keyboards. I went to Digipen to pursue that creativity and fell in love with rigging. I built up all the skills I needed to tell stories and found a new path into creative fields.
Creating art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Doodling, creating little comic strips, editing videos and the sorts has always been something I'm passionate about. I've always wanted a chance to showcase the stories I've created. To get a chance to provide entertainment to millions of people is an opportunity of a life time, and I feel that the time is now.
I first knew I wanted to work in games or films while watching the Lord of the Rings extended edition. In the behind the scenes, the concept artists delved in deep into their process and the prop artists show all the dissembled prop pieces and I immediately knew I wanted to be involved in a creative field creating immersive worlds and stories.
I've always been infatuated with video games from a young age. I grew up in a small town in Tennessee and realized that I was in an area that was not supportive of Arts and far away from any creative industry school. As I got older, I found myself setting up my life to have work safety nets for when I eventually make the plunge into the creative world. From the moment I got my acceptance letter to attend DigiPen Institute of Technology, I was all in. I knew from that moment that this is for me.
Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to get into an art-related industry. At that time I had no idea that the gaming industry was so famous. It wasn’t until I mentioned this ideal to my art teacher in community college. My art teacher introduced me to the gaming industry. This was also the first time I learned about the creative industry and wanted to join it.
I had realized I wanted to work in the industry as early as the 8th grade as I had started paying attention to the art and animation in the games I had enjoyed. After taking some courses in High School for animation and wanting to do more, I ended up applying to Digipen and have been working at improving my capabilities as an artist and animator through classes and personal animation projects
I like the community plus I like to tell my own stories as well as helping others tell their stories. I've been drawing since I was in grade school on a continuous basis and DigiPen provided me with the tools necessary to be successful in the industry. I'm looking forward to contributing where I can in order to help others succeed.
When I was in high school, I was given a project to research what I wanted to do and study for a living after graduating. I had always loved art, and always loved movies, and they held a special place in my heart. I had coveted the "Art of" books of Disney movies and read them cover to cover, but it had never dawned on me until this project that I could be apart of these movies too. I was excited at the potential to collaborate on the animated movies I loved growing up with.
