For me, creativity has always been important and used in my daily life whether that is drawing, painting, writing and gaming. My first initial idea to work within the creative media industry was during secondary school, ICT class and Art & Design class always made me excited to attend and to learn new things, as well as wondering what I could to do with these skills. This gave me a clearer life goal that I want to achieve in the future and to work in the creative media industry.

My entrance into the world of animation and VFX was rather sudden, I studied to work on set in the film industry then I took the chance to learn something new by taking an animation course instead.

From a young age I have always been fascinated by science fiction and animation, taking a huge interest in the visual aspects. I began playing with basic video editing software in 2013, which led me to study film. During the lockdown that came with COVID, I spent months experimenting with Blender and other animation software. I decided to study animation and motion graphics, as i developed a passion for it.

I decided to pursue a Job in the creative media and entertainment industry because I have always loved the movie and animation industry. Starting of when I was younger watching clips of how Disney animations where developed to just generally enjoying Art.

Since primary school I have always wanted to create games but as I reached closer to the goal I realised that it wasn't exactly what I believed it to be; since then I have been attempting to build up understanding for not only the software within 2-D and 3-D modelling, Animating and Rigging but within the creative media industry as a whole.

Since my early childhood spent watching Toy Story on repeat, I have always been enthralled by animation. After growing up and learning of the time, effort and skill which went into making the animations which captured my childhood and adolescence I was given a much greater respect for not only animation but the people who create it. It has since been my dream to be an animator.

I've always enjoyed art and anything creative. I've found the creative media industry really interests me and its something I've always aspired to work in.

I have always been a very creative person, previously mainly focusing on Fine Art but now moving and expanding my talent to the digital world studying motion graphics.

From a young age, I've been enamored by the world of creativity, particularly through cartoons. The vibrant characters, imaginative storylines, and the sheer joy they brought me ignited a passion within me. It was then that I realized I wanted to be a part of the creative industries, where I could contribute to crafting experiences that inspire and entertain others.

my Level 3 Art and Design course introduced me to the enchanting realm of animation, I've been spellbound by the magic of bringing my creations to life. Art has always coursed through my veins, whether through the strokes of a paintbrush on canvas or the pixels dancing on a screen. this artist talent was passed down to me from my great grandmother who loved painting absolute beautiful landscapes on her walls. the new skills I learnt in Belfast met will carry me on for the rest of my life.

After Covid-19 I revaluated My career choices and wanted to move into a career that i feel would make me happy in long term. I have been self teaching animation since 2019. iv always enjoyed and appreciated animation and wanted to learn how to hone my skills and find the area within animation I want to specialise in.

I have always been interested in films and animation and this course provides many of the necessary tools to do so.

I have always been interested and talented at art, so this career path just felt right for me.

When did you first realise you wanted to work in the creative industries? When I picked up the pencil.

I've always been interested in things like movie and TV shows and have wanted to be part in making media since I was young

I became interested in working in the game industry 4 years ago. Have been attending Belfast Metropolitan College ever since. I am learning industry standard techniques that would help me break into the game industry.

In secondary school we went to a Uni convention, and I spoke to one of the Uni representatives about game design and game art. I have always been interested in games and animation, but believed initially it would be very difficult to get a job, especially in Northern Ireland. After doing more research however, I realised it was indeed possible for me to learn the necessary skills and there were a variety of jobs available- especially for 3D generalists.

I realised I wanted to work in the creative industries when I started a Level 3 BTEC in Game Design and greatly enjoyed creating assets and animations. This was then bolstered when I started a Level 5 HND in Motion Graphics and gained a more in-depth knowledge of creating characters and animation.

When I was young, one of my cousins was training to be a Game Developer and was QA testing and it blew my little mind. Since then I had always wanted to work in the Creative Media Industry. I would sit and watch him play Spore in his free time too which led me to love their models and designs. When doing a Course in Game Development, I decided Animation and Modelling was my passion and went from there. I just want to make creations for people to enjoy and my goal is to do that full time.

not really a intresting story but was bored and wanted to make something cool

I first realised I wanted to work in the creative media and entertainment industry back when I was still in Secondary School. I've always gravitated towards creative subjects ever since I was a kid and grew to be fascinated with things like 3D modelling and Animation so I started to seek out further education in these subjects in the hopes of building a skill set and eventually breaking into the industry.
