Chew Jetty of Penang

Project Title: Chew Jetty of Penang, Malaysia

This is my final year project featuring a digital replica of the Clan Jetties of George Town, Penang, Malaysia. It is the biggest amongst the clan jetties of George Town as well as part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Although I am not a native of Penang,  I chose the Chew Jetty to showcase a different side of this popular heritage sites. Taking away the familiar bustling energy of the day when the sun is bright and tourist and traders abundant, the scene I chose to recreate is inspired by the romance of the past, featuring the narrow alleyway of the Jetty at the end of a busy day basking in the evening skies. The primary project goal was to recreating a mood with the use of lighting, rendering and compositing.

A total of 21 houses were build for this scene and to maximise of time and efficiency, I used the modular technique to prepare all the assets and parts before putting them together and added some outsourced assets which I textured to add more character to the scene

Final scope of the project was to build half of the jetty. Initial layout blocking and individual houses wip. 

Project Title: Test Subject 21 Lab scene

A final year short film production group project.  This is the final pre-comp scene of the medical lab scene. My contribution for this scene were the MRI Scanner & Patient Bed Modelling, Scene Assembly, UV & Texture and Lighting.

Models contributed by my team were Robotic Arm, Corner Workstation, Standalone Monitors, Desktop Workstation.

Project Title: MTV Remake

A year 2 film (mtv) production group project to do a MTV remake of Billie Eilish's All the Good Girls Goes to Hell. This is the final pre-comp scene of the hell scene . My contribution for this scene were the Spider Thone Modelling, Scene Assembly, UV & Texture and Lighting.

Models contributed by my team were Pillars, Rock formation (myself included).

Project Title: Steampunk Submarine

An individual 2nd year university project to design and model a steampunk themed vehicle of our choice. The submarine was inspired by the deep sea predatorial Angler fish. Pretty happy with the results after all the struggles and problem solving phase.
