Campervan Eddie
I've textured Eddie like a groovy 70s style VW campervan! I love the funky designs and amount of colour used when painting these kind of campervans so I wanted to have a go myself on Eddie.

The Final Result!
Turntable rendered in Marmoset Toolbag.
I thoroughly enjoyed texturing Eddie and making him groovy! I love projects that give me opportunities to use as much colour as possible and I feel like I have truly achieved that with this.
It makes me want to fit in more texturing side projects, I certainly think I have improved my knowledge of Substance Painter during this contest! See the start to finish renders below:
These are the renders from the specified cameras on the brief:

An updated progress slider!
Really pleased with the progress I've made so far, I've had a lot of fun using as many colours as poss!
Changed flames leg to softer shapes (see comparison below).
Repainted the 'Love' text as I wanted it bigger and more hand-painted style! Began texturing the arms (only really done one arm so far!)
Also updated the eyes using a height map + normal map I created in Photoshop. I used the headlight below as reference.
Update - 20 Sep 2020
I've added patterns to his feet! I wanted to do a water/fire thing for it but looking at it now, I'm not overly keen on the fire shapes so I might swap them to softer shapes next chance I get.
I'm now away on a course for all of this week so I will have a think of what to do to make his arms a bit more interesting next chance I get!

Update - 17 Sep 2020
I tried to keep most of the pieces on him hand-painted (the flowers are stickers - currently!), I wanted to avoid using stickers as much as I could as campervans like this are usually all hand painted which I think gives them a lot of character so I wanted to try and include that on Eddie!
My favourite part was painting his butt-mural!!
This is still a WIP!
I love the progress I am making - I'm learning loads more in Substance Painter than I knew before this! However I want to keep pushing my design until I run out of time.
What I'm planning to do:
- Fix height/roughness on a few of the metal bits - as they're a bit intense at the moment!
- Add something more to the painted parts on his limbs, they're just block colours for now but I feel like I want to paint something extra on them - not sure what yet!
- Potentially change the eyes, at the moment they're mostly just painted to give the illusion of the reflection you get with the headlights but I may experiment with them more if I have time.
I tried to incorporate lots of different parts of the campers on him. I made his shoulders campervan wheels! Still need to tweak them but happy with how they're coming along.
This is the progress I have made thus far:
This is my mood board - love all these styles so I took inspiration from lots of different designs!
