The Bust of Paloma

During my 3rd year at ESMA Lyon, I had the chance to work on an amazing project called "The Bust". The rules were to create the bust of a character we want with the most realistic texturing/shading.

For this project I have chose to recreate the wonderful French Drag Queen that is Paloma (Hugo Bardin). She is a character with a lot of character and I wanted to do her portrait with a Cartoon-ish/Caricatural-ish look. And here is the final result after 16 weeks of work:

The first step for this big project was to made some researches and create a moodboard and a lightboard

Once the researches were done, it was the beginning of the project:

And to be honest I was far away from doing something good at the beginning...

But after advices from Baptiste Lebouc, my project was getting better and better. I have learn many things about skin texturing and shading.

And then was the beginning of the most challenging part for me: THE HAIR!

After a lot of Maya crash and errors, it starts looking better and better until the end of the project..

And after a few changes I came with that final look:

Thanks to that project I have learn a lot, I saw how much I was capable of with good advices.
