Just You Wait
3D Animation scene based on the 1964 musical movie MY FAIR LADY, played by Audrey Hepburn.
A few months ago, I was wondering what kind of scene I could make next, in order to improve my demo-reel... I wanted something funny, but not hilarious... which could show some pantomime, and also some body mechanics and some lipsync...
But what scene? Which type of scene should I go for? After analysing many, many references, one idea came to my mind! I wanted to make a 3D animation scene based on a musical!
If you think about it, it makes sense! People love musicals, they usually involve body mechanics, lipsync and pantomime, and they are usually funny (somehow...)
So I watched several musicals those days, to document myself.
And finally, after all this documentation effort, I found the scene that I was looking for! For her expressiveness, for her grace, for her dynamism... Yes! The scene that stole my heart was Audrey Hepburn's scene "Just you wait" from the film MY FAIR LADY.
So, what you are thinking is correct... this project became, little by little, into a small tribute to Audrey Hepburn.
It was already time to start making physically the scene! So I looked for my rig, my set, and my props!
The following days, I completed the Blocking, looking for the best extreme poses and sorting out several technical problems and keeping some time to face any possible issue that may rise.
And yes, the project was going on quickly, and after a couple of weeks, I had my animation well on track.
And then... there you go! Time goes fast, and before I could realize, I was finalizing the polish of the animation and rendering the scene.
I leave you below the final result of the project. I hope that you enjoy it!
