Thrilled to unveil a passion project close to my heart! 🎨✨ From the moment I laid eyes on this mesmerizing animation of Tom and Jerry created by the incredibly talented Alexey Medvedev, I knew I had to be part of this shot! Responsible for layout, lighting, texturing, shading, and compositing.

My aim was to infuse the scene with vibrant colors and breathe life into the characters we've grown to love. The selected references sparked my imagination, guiding me towards a vibrant color palette, capturing the essence of hospital surroundings, and incorporating textures to achieve a stylized yet balanced look.

Perfecting the gradient and shaping for the characters in this shot was quite a challenge. To overcome this challenge, I explored a few shading techniques. These newfound skills not only breathed life into the characters but also a captivating sense of depth and personality, enhancing the overall visual experience.

My focus overall was to achieve  the concept of light over dark and dark over light. In this shot, it  was particularly tricky to maintain focus on Tom's face while he rushes out the door, despite of the contrast and the darkness. But there, I learnt the use of Pref pass which was a saviour in this case.

Overall,  it was a very special project for me as Tom and Jerry cartoon was responsible to spark the inspiration of pursuing  the career of 3D animation. And I believe that would be the case for most artist out there. I truly enjoyed working on this animation. The support and feedback from Juan Lopez and Academy of Animated arts was valuable and highly appreciated.
