A character design project, showcasing the process of worldbuilding and character design in a form a goblin tribe's lair and its inhabitants.
THE GOBLIN LAIR
In this project I want to showcase different part of my worldbuilding process, including character concepts, props and environment. My main focus was the characters and their relations to each other in the hierarchy in the goblin lair.
I was inspired by the world of D&D and Baldur's Gate 3 and was aiming to create a project that would fit into that world but at the same time bring something original into it.
The Goblin King
In the early stages I was experimenting with the idea that the "goblin king" is an impostor and his purple skin would look like it's smudged with green paint. Ultimately I decided against this as it's more "in character" for tieflings if they rule over others using fear and control.
Wanted to portray Mrugnak as an older tiefling who fought his way through battles and foes.
