This is my first ever major project, which is titled Letter Wars! It's a fast paced intense boss rush where the player is a sentient eraser, who battles through every single letter of the alphabet. Each alphabet poses a unique challenge that takes advantage of their specific shapes to create memorable challenges that require skill and creativity to overcome!

The video above is a showcase of Letter Wars' main campaign, where the player battles through letters A through Z.

When I came up with this concept, my goal was for it to be a showcase of my design ability, as I take the restriction of the letter shapes and turn them into complete distinct, memorable, and challenging boss fights. 

Furthermore, this game also has a complex movement system, which was different from my initial intent which was to make it a more simple megaman-type combat system. Instead, the player's offense in this move is based off of directional dashes, which can chain together in unique ways to overcome the game's challenges! This change was decided by me halfway through, as I saw it as an opportunity to show my technical design abilities, with the creation of a movement system that had many possibilities and complexities such as this!

This game also features an Impossible Mode, which consists of 6 extra bosses all of which push the boundaries of the game's mechanics to their absolute limit!

The goal for these bosses was as a test for my game's movement system and boss design, and this test proved fruitful as this mode shows how adaptable both those aspects of this game are! 5 of the 6 boss fights consists of a combination of two prior boss fights from the main campaign, while the 6th is a much more difficult version of the game's final boss. 

Another goal I had was to create challenges that were incredibly difficult, but also had variety in terms of how they can be approached. There are a multitude of ways to go about defeating every single boss fight  in this game, due to just how varied and complex the movement system is.
