Environment Art Collection
A series of environment art projects I've made during the past months, as well as one character project.
Hi! This is a collection of projects I've worked on the past few months during my last year at SCAD.
The workshop is an environment concept that I decided to rework, modeling new assets and exploring stylized textures. It was spread out over the course of 9 weeks and it was heavily inspired by Sophie's hat shop in Howl's Moving Castle and the Dishonored series.
For the textures, I worked with hand painting some base materials like the tile floor, the wood and the plaster walls. Then in Substance Painter I laid out base colors and hand painted in details. Textures and lighting were a big focus for this project.
This project was a series of material studies, with seamless materials, manufactured and organic materials with both clean and altered states. I modeled the environment, used an HDRI for the lighting and created all the materials using Substance Designer and Painter.
The apartment was an environment made over the roughly 6 weeks. The aim was to build an environment that mixed 1970s retrofuturism with a casual and grounded ambiance. This was really an opportunity to test workflow for me, in general but specifically working between Maya and Zbrush.
The Spade Guard was a fun project that was my jumping point into Zbrush (again over 9 weeks). The idea for what a militia officer themed after the card soldiers from Alice in Wonderland and took the opportunity to bring it to life.
