Mage Village

Hey everyone, I'm happy to share you a project I've made this year in a mentoring's class to become an Environment Artist, it's a 3D modeling version of a concept art I've found on ArtStation, by the artist named Ove Trengereid.

Such a great challenge for me this year and I hope you will like it ! 

Above, a clay render version with smooth lighting, it was this idea that make my interest in this concept at the beginning. I found that the atmosphere of the scene was very peaceful, and I wanted to keep this relaxing feeling with this lighting and render.

This is the concept art that I choose to work on this year, the challenge was quantified by the numbers of rocks, roots and trees that required displacements maps, and also the complicated perspective from the concept, which was hard to represent in 3D ! 

Those two last images presents a wireframe version for the scene which begins to be very heavy in terms of size !
