Environment Concepts

This concept art was done for a school project to capture the mood of a game. It's set in a 50's attic with spooky/supernatural elements. 

Next to concept art for school projects, I like to create environments in my spare time as well. I love to create scenes purely from imagination, like the one shown below. Both of these images were created by starting in color directly. Normally, I sketch in values and then proceed to add color later on. The third example is created this way. 

The third example I will show is a cyberpunk city illustration. Disclaimer: This is a WIP illustration. However, since I feel in is nearly completed, I wanted to show this as well. Also this example is created purely from imagination, but I got heavily inspired by the Blade Runner series and Cyberpunk 2077.  First I created different thumbnail sketches from which I chose one to further develop. My plan is to create a 2D parallax animation once the illustration is completely finished. 

I eventually chose to further develop the third thumbnail. 

The last example is another environment from imagination. I tried something completely different than I was used to. I mainly draw industrial citycscapes, which is why I choose to go for a different setting.
