Action Scene | Nuke Compositing Project
This is the result of my final project for my master's degree at Lightbox Academy done in Nuke.
ACTION SCENE
I'm pleased to share this project. It is the final assignment on my initial master's degree program at Lightbox Academy. Everything has been composed in Nuke.
ACTION SCENE: BREAKDOWN
As you can see in the breakdown, there are four main phases that have made possible the correct execution of the scene. The first one, would be the cleanup in which every object that is not relevant or needed in the plate is removed. The second pass would be the sky replacement where masks and character rotoscopes were needed. The last two passes are the object integration and it's individual color correction plus the general color correction of the scene.
Furthermore, there are some small subtile details that have not been showed individually;
When it comes to the helicopter's integation there are some details that may have been unseen such as the movement on the tree leafs produced by the helicopter and the heat from the heli's motor that produces a heat distortion in that tiny area.
Some other details are the colors on the windows when the missile explosion starts. These have been animated by color and glow settings.
The footage used on this project is mainly from Action VFX and Footage Crate.
