Ghost Trap – Ghostbasters

This was my first real personal project done at Skyup Academy, during the hard surface modeling and texturing module. This project has been structured to be as photorealistic and similar to the original as possible. I wanted the Ghost Trap to look old and battered, to convey the story of all the catches made by the Ghostbusters. Modeling in Maya, Texturing in Substance 3D Painter and final rendering in Vray.

Here's the renders:

Kohuru – The protector of the Sea People

This was my very first 3D sculping project done at Skyup Academy. It is an original concept conceived by me on paper, transposed into clay and finally refine on Zbrush and rendered in Maya with Vray. Editing done with Photoshop, Clipstudio Paint, Premiere Pro and After Effects.

Below are the single renders:

A project developed in Unreal Engine, with the collaboration of Davide De Sensi, Daniela Rota and Edoardo Celato, during Filippo Romani’s lessons throughout his course at Skyup Academy.

Modeling made with Maya, texturing using Substance, lightining settings, cinematic and shading shade with Unreal Engine 5.

Concept by Julia Browns.

Our story behind the concepts:

World

-

Year 2150. After having continually exploited, polluted and disfigured our planet's resources, ignoring the signals sent by the planet itself, humanity has practically halved.

The remaining groups of humans are mainly nomadic or located in new cities that are spread through all of the so-called "safe zones".

Assembly points, elevated and built so that they were able to resist the various climatic changes, called "Elevation Gates" where refugees can shelter.

Location

-

Canada - British Columbia - Golden Ears Provincial Park

A gargantuan hurricane has displaced a ferry-boat used to transport people from Orcas Island, in Washington State, to the forest extending from the former Pitt Lake to Stave Lake. After the landing, the ship has been repaired in order to be used as a refuge by the groups of people fleeing Vancouver and the other nearby cities that have been devastated by tidal waves and the hurricane itself. This location is 260 km from the closest safe Elevation Gate.

Height: 170 cm

Weight: 54 kg

Distinguishing marks: Visible freckles on the nose and cheekbones, a scar going from the center of the forehead to the right temple.

Born in Blane, in the state of Washington, she ran from the town 6 years priors taking refuge in north Aldegrove, one of the few cities that escaped the tsunami. She lived in a makeshift shelter inside an abandoned shopping center, waiting to be rescued by her family who went lost during the chaos of their escape. After surviving alone and having trained herself physically, she gathered useful information from other survivors and has decided to leave the shelter she had for the last few years to venture northeast, to the Elevation Gate of Kamloos. After gathering supplies and items for self-defense, she leaves towards the mountains, sleeping outside until she reached to the abandoned ferryboat in the forest where she is forced to take refuge longer than she anticipated, for 23 days, due to a snowstorm that seems not to decrease in intensity.

SPICE

This is part of the project of my CGI Master Class at Skyup Academy: The “ Crew Dragon”. I worked there as a modeler and animation department lead.

Our thesis is insiperd by the movie “Dune: Part one”.

The main goal of my work as lead animator was to make the movements of the objects in the scene as realistic as possible.

We worked on avoiding the exaggeration of the movements and we focused on the 1:1 rotoscoping of the various shots selected for the thesis.

I also contributed to making the movements of the clothes on stage realistic, collaborating on several occasions with the guys in the cloth department.

Animation team and clot team:

Chiara Canzan, Davide De Sensi, Enea Pasquale Scirè, Fabio Gardin, Gabriele Alboretti, Giulia Bilanzuoli, Giuseppe Rodi, Luca Bertoncello, Marco Oliveri, Pasquale Fantetti, Riccardo Polin, Sergio Rapisarda, Tommaso Stragà, Valerio Barchi

Early on in the project I worked as a modeler for the following shot.

I used Zbrush to define the main volumes and maya's mash for the details.
